If someone has already mentioned this here then I apologise in advance but I wanted to share this for anyone who doesn't know already.
It is well covered territory that players on Pc have technical advantages and a higher skill ceiling than console players especially with weapons like the eye of reach and the flintlock pistol. Reasons are higher FPS, better processing power and using mouse and keyboard to name a few. There is NO in game way to make a strict separation between the console and PC players so for competitive play, as a console player, it can at times feel as though the playing field is not fairly balanced and that you are at a stark disadvantage even with your POV and sensitivity settings customised.
There is a setting on Xbox consoles to make a separation between PC and Console for multiplayer games. I do not know if a work around exists where PC players can infiltrate the console servers but these are steps you can take to even the playing field for competitive play and it is worth doing, we have noticed a huge difference with hourglass and hostile player encounters in the game from enabling this setting.
Press X box home button and go to your profile picture and then down to settings.
When in settings go down to account and over to privacy and online safety.
Go into x box privacy and then go down to view details and customise.
Go down to communication & multiplayer.
Go to "you can join cross-network play" and change this from "allow" to "block."
(Decide whether to allow or block multiplayer gaming with players on other gaming services outside of x box)
I hope this improves your PVP experiences.
Cheers 🥂
