Increase number of players on the galeon

  • Hey, I would really appreciate it if the number of players in the galleon would be increased by 1 - or alternatively a new ship model comes into play, on which 5 people can play together.

    So we wouldn't have to leave anyone out in our private group, just because there is no place left, and we could finally all play together.

    Why not make it 10? 20? More friends will always be left out.
    Not everyone gets to be part of a crew but part of a guild…

    Yeah, sadly in this game, it would make galleons too imbalanced. Having 4 players on cannons while being able to steer that ship, would make it a bit too overpowered for brigs and sloops. Just having an extra person to help bilge would make it that much harder to sink. Once custom servers are here, you'll be able to make any crew size you want!

    Somewhere...a 5 man galleon appear, instead of 2v4 there is now 5 players to deal with. Instead of the galleon firing 4 cannons at once, now they are steering the ship and firing, or all 5 decide to board.

    I remember back in the day...2 galleon crews decided to board together on a single Galleon, 8 men all together. 4 below and 4 above.

    Yeah so, there are 4 roles for the galleon: helm, cannon, bilge, and flex. By adding a fifth person to the galleon, you increase it's chances against other ships significantly, as the additional person would make galleons overpowered. You'd be able to have 2 board other ships without any loss of firepower or repairs. The imbalance wouldn't be fair to other players in this game.

    The number of players each ship accommodates is balanced for fairness against other ships. They're not going to disrupt that balance to accommodate your friend group. Next week we'll probably have someone asking for 6 players on a galleon.

    With custom servers in season 20, you'll have no problems having everyone on your ship on your own server, so you're sure to have a lot of fun!

    Make a sloop with 2 guys, make a brig with the other 3, & play together that way. :)
    No need to be on 1 ship per se.
    The problem with having 5 or 6 people on a galleon is that the game wouldn't be properly balanced anymore.
    4 decent players on a galleon are already near unbeatable for any other crew/ship in the game. :)
    So even more players on a galleon? Completely disagree.
    I get that it would be fun for you to have more of your friends on the ship. But 20 players on a galleon would be fun too.
    Yet, in a game that has pvp, the competitive/pvp aspect being balanced is one of the core/important things the game needs to do right, and at this point the game is doing fine as it stands now, if anything needs to be said about this galleon is already kind of OP.

    If you are of the opinion that 5 people on a galleon is too much or is too unbleanched why are not 2 cannons in a sloop and not 3 cannons in a brigade but with a galleon 4 cannons I am of the opinion that the galleon is too op for many that they get an extra server where only galleons drive and Brigs are allowed and no sloops drive they get their own server and why? Because a galleon and brigade in wind catches up with a sloop and a brigade and galleon can send 1-2 boarder over to a sloop that is alone or two man occupied would only be fair for a sloop or a server where only a 5 one can drive around if you think all since the 5 man would be unbalanced on a galleon!
