PvP PvE sad truth

  • It'a a grest game for achievement and ship battles . You have some players that want to focus on achievements. Other players want to focus on ship battles. They don't seem to get along real well. I like to focus on achievements. When a ship comes by, I just leave the game. Not ideal for eitherside.

Well, sounds to me they're getting along with you pretty well. Just not the other way around. 😂

Also, you know you can just scuttle and change server if you really hate even a possibility of a PvP, right? It's still faster than having to restart the game.

Still, the biggest mistake you're making is assuming everyone who's approaching you is looking for PvP. You'd be surprised how many players are actually seeking for allies. Not even allowing a chance for that to happen before quitting/changing a server is pretty wild thing to do, and the only really sad truth here.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • @captainluke56 if you’re not keen on PvP then a) you bought the wrong game and b) safer seas exists for a reason.

  • When a ship comes by, I just leave the game.

Kind of a waste of time to leave everytime a ship appears....In a PvPvE Open World, Adventure Sandbox game. ;P

    PvPvE game.

  • Half the posts on this forum are just random rage baits now.

  • I think there is an opportunity for a between space of safer seas and high seas. I get the “safer seas” for the families, those who do not want pvp, and adaptive gamers, but my personal opinion is that there could be so much more for this population of gamers who are just as important as the pvp seeking players.

I look at it as it a player base and money left of the table for an experience people are seeking.

I play both modes to fit my lifestyle. As an adult living with children, pets, general responsibilities sometimes I go to safer seas because I love the game and am not in the mood to fight and instead just want to explore the islands without worry.

I stopped playing for several years due to time constraints but have noticed in my return a general decrease of the friendly players I would randomly meet and then regularly game with. There would be several times a week on the open servers players would leave friendly gifts for each other. I have not seen a friendly player in returning to play for the past 2-months. I miss that piece and hoping it is still alive in this game. I will start doing it to brighten someone’s day myself but wonder if it is just a general change in the community of the game?

I do see similar threads with the colorful responses and general never gonna happen but I will beat the dead horse with my opinion😂

Just like you, there are other (PvP-avoiding) players who spend (part of) their time on Safer Seas ... see how this works ?
I think it's great people can play with their kids and have fun without other crews possibly ruining that fun, but allowing earning gold, reputation and advancement in commendations was and still is a bad idea.

Also, people get better in avoiding other crews and even dive to another server if they think other crews might be after them.

  • It's a PvP pirate game. People are choosing to play a game in one of the ways its meant to be played. There definitely is a market for people playing the way you want to exist, however I think that having that market would kill the game more than help it. People would do everything, get bored of the game, and then stop playing after 2-3 months like most people do with most games.
