Are there any plans to make this celebratory cosmetic actually available to your playerbase by tying it with anything else than a service that is unavailable in many countries around the world?
What about the rest of the 40th Anniversary freebies? Will they also be only for the selected few who got born in one of the few specific regions?
Will there be any actual announcement of all planned activities for this HUGE milestone for the company? Considering it already started it would be more than welcome.

@karkona No. All of those links tell you that MS codes belong on MS version of the game and Steam codes belong on Steam version of the game and mixing them does not work.
Your second question is wrongly placed. I live in Czech Republic. I have access to MS store. Game Pass. Even the MS Rewards things (although the region list of xbox services says Czechia does not have Rewards). I could farm up rewards points and claim the ancient coins pack. But I do not see nor have available the specific Rare Ruby Hat offer or the punchcard. The "specific territories" do not reflect any logical setting available from MS or Xbox services lists.

Ok, so steam players are unable to get a ruby hat then. And appears people are region locked from getting it. This is interesting.@karkona Just get GamePass Ultimate, claim the emote as well, launch game through Xbox Cloud Gaming and you're set. Or don't.

Thats realy anoying. i agree with you. i got the emote! lol had to upgrade my game pass to ultimate so i littarly pay like 8 euro to get that emote. but i just buy the emote because im not able to get the had. so at least got something from it. but we dont have to talk about thats just brainless to buy that emote like i did.... xD. But yes wthelly? why u would make this that limited to region when u got world wide playerbase...... i dont got any gift from u guys just had to spend money on xbox services to able get a 40th aniv emote... so why u make this even a thing...... (sry for bad english)
@valdes191 unfortunately it also seems that all of the celebratory items will be inaccessible when playing from ps5 despite being redeem and account bound. You should have access to them from PC or xbox installation, but won't see them in chests or equipped on your pirate/ship when on the playstation :(

@caspercrane They're supposed to send you a code. You can go to your rewards and look at your orders and view your code there. They should also email you the code. Go to the rewards website, click your image in the top right - go to My Microsoft Account, then on the left click Order History. You should see something that says "Reveal code" or something.....

I just redeemed it as well but I'm guessing they're treating them as xbox exclusives which sucks. I'm surprised they either make these open or release a PS5 version so that they aren't left out.
EDIT: I did look at the console specific cosmetics and it looks like it is Xbox/PC specific. The only PS5 specific cosmetics are for pre-order but the scarlet storm parakeet doesn't appear in my inventory. will need to reach out to Rare to figure out what happened.
Something needs to be done about this Rare. This is an outright data harvesting tactic, and its failing. Apparently my "Microsoft Rewards" account has been "temporarily suspended" and I live in the United States so I can't even redeem the hat with a full punch card nor can I redeem anything with Microsoft Rewards due to the temporary suspension(I have over 35,000 in Microsoft Reward points). I don't think this should have been executed as a data harvesting promotional and I really hope that after the whole thing is said and done we'll be able to purchase the hat along with the rest of the cosmetics in one of the in game outposts, or perhaps there'll be an option to buy it from the Emporium at the end of the promotion. I've repeatedly filed tickets with Microsoft Support and I'm almost certain they just have the CoPilot AI replying to me with auto generated responses that simply boil down to over worded apologies about how it can't do anything about my situation. On top of that, the rest of the users are making valid points here. Why would this be a console exclusive - region exclusive other than being a predatory practice in siphoning data for Microsoft? The requirements to get this hat are basically ridiculous; phone numbers? Names? Email Account information? Who are you looking for??>>>

edit: so no matter what I do mateys, this is what I get. I decided to go with the contingency plan and use a new account and add all my information(location, new email address, phone number, etc..) - and even with a brand new Microsoft Rewards account that hasn’t been temporarily suspended these are the results I’ve gotten. “Wait 24 hours and try again”. This is mutiny worthy. Any solutions my dear Rare? I’ve been at it for 42 days to no avail. Call me stubborn, call me stiff necked. Call me an idiot. I just like you and your game. Halp!
Same here in Austria. You´re not able to get the Missions for the hat.
I bought Xbox Ultimate, so i can start the game over Xbox, i bought 4x Ancient Coin Packs with reward points, i had several tickets with Microsoft and several tickets with Rare. I got the Coins, but not the hat. Rare support wont help here.
I´m just mad, seriously! I mean, we´re talking about Austria. A country absolutely mid-europe. Germany has it, France has ist, Span has it, but as an austrian citizen i´m not allowed to get it?

I had phenomenal results from contacting Rare support (Captain Savage) who then told me to contact Xbox support(Dedipya - their name means “Brightness” <) - through their efforts and instructions I was able to redeem the Ruby Hat. I highly recommend seeking help through Xbox/Rare Support if you haven’t already tried. Be patient with them, and treat them like human beings and they should be able tl solve your issues. They were the only real humans I was able to get in contact with over the whole situation!

Xbox Support telling me, this is a Rare-problem, they cannot support and i should contact Rare. Rare support telling me:
"We completely understand your frustrations about this situation and we're truly sorry that you're going through this. We know how important can be obtaining your rewards as everyone else.
Unfortunately, as we mentioned before, right now this promotion isn't available in all regions, being yours one of the affected ones. We apologize for the disappointment this can cause, as we're not able to grant the item to your account due to these reasons."
