I love the game, and this doesn't really matter, but sometimes I wonder if Rare designed their ships and then picked names out of a hat. The galleon has neither the beakhead or the lantern rigged rear mast that are the distinguishing features of a galleon. The brigantine would require the mainsail to be gaff rigged rather than square rigged. Its bizarre rig is closer to a brig, but is really pretty nonsensical. And the sloop is so far away from a sloop that it's not even worth going into.
So how did Rare assign these names? Did they pick at random? Did they only know the names of 3 types of ship?
