I think its a pile of c**p we are not supose to name names. Some dirty scally wag joined game, then chucked loot off the boat. It was only 2 chest and one cup but thats not the point. I pm him to ask what you doing. He replied and i quote from the donkey him self "screwing up you". Couldnt get the votes to brig him cause the 3rd crew mate didnt have a clue. Ive reported to Xbox along with his message but i feel all SoT players should know about these people.
Name that griefer
@too-much-space the reason we can't name names is because then trolls and griefers can get good players witch-hunted as well.
@too-much-space Apparently there's a block feature. Go to their Game Card from My Crew, and there'll be a block option from what I hear. I haven't needed to test it myself but supposedly it makes sure they will never play with you again.
@ant-heuser-kush ya thats annoying. Now i can understand joining a crew for when my local crew arr busy.
because it's not the communities job to act on this information. There are appropriate systems in place with the right tools to deal with it.
How are we as a community to know if you are telling the truth or not? Video evidence can't really be trusted, how do we know you didn't bait the individual fr hours turning them aggressive, only to then turn the camera on and catch them 'being toxic' towards you?
It's your word against someone else and it's not for us to decide who's right or wrong. Nor is it right for us to start a vigilante group and essentially harass someone / ruin their game as a result of their actions (it would never stop!).
Report the player, make a full account of your experience, provide as much supporting evidence as possible. And allow the dev team / Microsoft to investigate and take the appropriate action.
@too-much-space Hello matey!
Unfortunately a troll is going to troll, regardless of the game. We can't simply start posting gamer tags around claiming them to be trolls/griefers. For all we know you may just be pasting the name of someone you don't particularly like in order to troll them. So you see, witch hunting has no place here.
My advice - there is a help section on this website, you can raise a support ticket with Rare under the subject of "toxic player" to have your experience investigated.
Other than that I'm afraid you'll simply have to move on and hope your next crew are decent folk!
Happy sailing!
@too-much-space I was doing a treasure map for snake island I had 4 of the 5 of them and some guy came into my game while I was leaving my ship to get the last one i was like meh whatever didn't think nothing of it, found the chest and headed back to were my ship was found him floating in the water and my ship smashing off rocks and sinking in the distance.
These kids are just crying for attention don't give it to them, they will forever be playing alone without friends inform them of that and leave. That's what I did.
There is nothing you can do about it as a sloop player you can't even lock him in the brig, you are helpless to the griefing, only thing there is to do is not give them the satisfaction and leave asap.
One more topic where you can see the wish for a "kick player" button.
We also got one of these usless landrats although we wanted to play as 4 people and waited for out 4 freind because 1 left during our play. A random toxic player appeared. We pleased him to leave and free the place for our 4th player but he doesn´t. He has done nothing for hours, then started drop captain chest from board. So we voted him into the bick but he waited till we get our reward.
The only thing he said was "Don´t worry, you don´t get me out of your group. I got an anti-afk tool."The end of the game was the fact, that one of us couldn´t play with us. Our day was ruined by one troll. That´s the reason why i want a function to close my lobby or get asked if a random is allowed to joind our lobby or a vote for kick player funktion

But does that actually block the player from playing with you? Or does it simply block them from being able to chat to you? I ask as over on Elite Dangerous there is the same block option. However, as explained by a Frontier Development developer, the blocking option there simply blocks somebody from contacting you, not from being in your instance of gameplay. How does the blocking option work in SoT?
@myrm from what I've heard, it keeps them from ever being put with you in matchmaking again. I haven't seen official confirmation though.
