Some Feedback regarding HG

  • With the LSS experience on Live servers, I've noticed an increased amount of players around the servers. I guess it's because fights are placed on an instanced server instead of High Seas.

I hope Rare learns from this and separates the HG experience from High Seas. I think the shared world would feel a little more "shared" as people would dive for HG battles and fight in a different server, instead of filling a slot in a normal server.

I know technically it may have issues, but I think it is the best option as 99% of HG battles are active vs active instead of passive vs active.

  • 100 % agreed.

No one can seriously argue against dedicated HG instances anymore.

1 HG fight takes up a third of a server population. I sometimes even spot 2 fights, therefore 4 ships!
There is 0 purpose in third-partying HG players, on top of it being frowned upon in the community (you do you however).
No one in HG enjoys spawning next to volcanoes, ghost fleets etc.
It would also finally remove any danger of exploits using supplies or the environment.

The invasion concept was nice in theory but has no future. No one seriously uses it.
Just change some commendations and voilà.

  • No. It because majority of the players are sloops. Now that HG sloops was disabled, and some dislike LSS. They play normal.

Separating hg from hs would reduce the encounter rate again not help.
I say they make HG a week long event instead of its normal full time tool. Bring back the thrill of fights on an open world instead of using a tool to find.

  • I think it's less about server slots and more about player behavior. Right now, the hardcore PvP crowd is completely distracted by the Last Ship Standing event. Non-PvP players are just taking advantage of a rare window where they can do high-risk activities without getting swarmed by sweat lords.

What...? What are you talking about?

Not only do hourglass matches consume 1/3 of the server capacity of any given server, but the overwhelming majority of hourglass matches take place in remote areas of the map. Then, the losing crew gets merged off while the winning crew either leaves the server again or b-lines to the nearest outpost to lower and leave the server anyways.

In no world would separating hourglass from high seas yield a reduction in encounters on high seas.

Realistically, it would dramatically increase the encounter rate on high seas.

    LOL Thought so, too.

    Aye.

And the point isn't about encountering any ships. It's about crews you can actually do something with. Fight, alliance, chill, ... no point if people wanna dive out for their streak anyway, have nothing for adventure players and just wanna be left alone ...

@burnbacon Sorry, but this is completely disconnected from reality.
