Microphone works fine but I can't hear other players (Win10 Store)

    Not only can I not hear other players, I am not even getting the symbol above their heads that they're transmitting sound. I have tested this with both my crew and with other crews and other players have confirmed the other players are transmitting sound fine. All other game sounds are working fine too.

    I have tried a lot of things already:

    • Full reinstall of Sea of Thieves

    • Checking my microphone and speaker settings in the Xbox Companion App and Xbox Game Bar

    • Checking that both my crew and other crews are not set to 'muted' in game

    • Checking that my xbox privacy settings are set to 'Everyone' can communicate me and I can communicate with everyone

    • Opening Xbox Live ports through my router

    I am tearing my hair out, does anyone have anything else to try?

    Are you in a Xbox Party or Game Chat?

    Im having exactly the same issue. I play on Windows 10 and the game doesnt even tell me my crew or other players are speaking. I've been through all the guides, reddit, reinstalled the game, reset the game through applications. Doesnt work whether Im in a party or not. No clue what to do. Help would be much appreciated as the support team havent offered any.

    Well the reason I ask if your in Party Chat or Game chat is there is an audio adjustment. If you have the game Volume set higher than the Chat Volume it will default block out the Chat volume.

    Ridiculous I know, but check that.

    @djangol1767 I'm having this issue too! One day it just stopped working and I have no idea why. I don't see the icon saying anybody is speaking, even my crewmates, and my voice isn't heard by anybody either. I checked the privacy settings, the game settings, nothing's working.

    @cass1016258 I found this video. Fixed the issue. Why these solutions arent on the main forum I have no idea. But this should fix it for you. Do everything in the video and it should work fine.
