Doubloons should change

  • The recent changes to the Doubloon economy and the scarcity of the currency have made High Seas incredibly hostile for casual players. Forcing players into server-wide PvP wars over Reaper's Chests just to earn a handful of Doubloons is pushing the casual player base away.I want to propose a simple solution that fixes the economy and respects players' time: The Dual Payout System. How it works:When selling any standard treasure item at an outpost or Sovereign tent, give players two prompts: [Button A] Sell for Gold or [Button B] Sell for Doubloons.Alternatively, allow players to manually trade a flat rate of Gold (e.g., 10,000 Gold) directly to Larinna or the Gold Hoarders for a set amount of Doubloons (e.g., 50 Doubloons). Why this fixes the game:Reduces Toxic Gatekeeping: Casual and solo players can progress toward long-term cosmetics—like the 1,500 Doubloon Curse of Ill Omen—by doing peaceful PvE content at their own pace.Preserves High Seas PvP: Hardcore players can still fight over high-threat targets like Reaper's Chests for massive, instant payouts.Fixes the Veteran Gold Sink: Long-time players with millions of useless Gold finally get a meaningful way to spend it on the rotating Black Market. Please consider giving players a choice in how they are rewarded. It would bring peace and balance back to the seas for everyone.

    ....Ummm less or more?

Forcing players into server-wide PvP wars over Reaper's Chests

Well, yeah. That how they were before and should of been. Like how Athena chests were before those as well. Worth the trouble being attacked or attacking someone, and turning them in.

pushing the casual player base away.

    Nope, Im still here.

When selling any standard treasure item at an outpost or Sovereign tent, give players two prompts: [Button A] Sell for Gold or [Button B] Sell for Doubloons

Wow, you really wanna take 6 steps back with this idea.

    Reduces Toxic Gatekeeping

Im still gonna start hunting down players who have items that I can sell for Doubloons...doesnt solve, but you just made every ship worth sinking.

Casual and solo players can progress toward long-term cosmetics—like the 1,500 Doubloon Curse of Ill Omen

    Making doubloons....worthless in the end.

It would bring peace and balance back to the seas for everyone.

You want a way to choose between Gold and Doubloons by loot types. This doesnt solve anything but making players still. "Attack!" not being toxic.

Toxic does not = sinking ships over loot.
