    this was a safe haven for pirates back in the day, and would be cool to see something to be used to this effect in game; and hear me out.

    yes this is a "safe zone" but not in the sense of you cant attack my ship, rather more for in game interaction. gambling, dueling, drinking etc... it could be in server or its own server while you wait to decide if when you want to go on voyages. this could even replace the load screen selection. it would be cool to bet on some dice or cards with people in the game, practice combat with real players.

    i don't really want to see things get taken away from the game because of irritation to losing, but we could also use a place where we can remember we are playing a game for some fun with strangers, and make some friends out of the process.

    those who prefer combat scenarios shouldn't shoot this down because this isn't sea of friends, its a place to take respite from the grind with your own crew mates too.

    I'd prefer it to be separate from the main game i think, like sort of a hub to meet new players and maybe crew up with them. Many times i just join game after game until i finally find a crew that is good, so it would be really nice to be able to meet people and crew up afterwards :) And as you said it could even replace the main screen!

    Unfortunately though i think this is a feature that Rare doesn't have particularly high on their list, and honestly id rather have new features that add to the core game, right now. Would love to see this added at a later point though!

    it would take a neutral island.
    actually tortuga with rules or blockages of specific game to avoid shooting bullets on all occasions. an island conducive to the meeting in safety or the rule of non-commitment is mandatory. (limitation made by dev, no weapons, cannons blocked etc.) your only weapons will be the mugs and musical instruments!
    this island would be a good place to prepare expeditions for events, or the recruitment of pirates for your crews

    I agree there should be a social hub 100%. Perhaps an option to load directly into this place before you join a server. It has to be it’s own instance and act similarly to the ferry of the damned. It would look great for a start but a place to socialise and recruit pirates looking to do similar voyages and players offering to help would be perfect. Add a few fun tavern games in and I’d be so happy.
