"By optimizing for regular monthly feature updates, we're just delivering features that feel rushed, aren't materially expanding the game, and behind the scenes, that delivery cadence is also negatively impacting the team."

"It's clear that we need to start making some significant changes to how we're working as a team, how we're delivering updates to the game, but most crucially reassess the type of content we're making and get back to the heart of where Sea of Thieves started with our focus on players creating stories together." - Drew
I don't think this was an easy decision to make as this will certainly lead to a loss of short term revenue. Also it's nearly an admission that the content being cut from Season 19 was not something that the team thought was in the interest of players creating stories together.
That's pretty huge, and I'm honestly happy to hear it, because I didn't think so either.
I know there are lots of people on this forum that will damn Rare no matter what they do, but I would much rather wait to get an update is novel and adds to the game's unique character than to have them toil endlessly in half-baked features and recycled ideas.
Looking forward to what's next.
Cheers!
