This HAS to be a top priority for them. I love this game, but I can't stand the fact that this game has been out for almost 5 years and the servers are getting worse by each update. The ping is literally jumping everywhere from 1-20 above the "stable ping" with the occasional spikes to 150-300. Other games doesn't do that for me. 1-5 at max. I don't want any excuses about some "intense action" Its a chicken and I'm hit regging it. Where's the intense action there? PvP matchmaking is even worse. I'm contantly getting matched up with people that have been playing this game for years and are lvl 100+ allegiance when I barely play pvp.
Server issues
Can’t say I’ve experienced any major lags or fps drops as severe as stated by the OP. I did, however, experience one odd thing. Yesterday I was doing a Souls Emissary mission where I had to find and kill a naughty pirate captain and his entourage. Only one issue and that was I was shooting one of the skeletons at point blank in the face. First with all 5 shots from a scoped rifle and then all 5 shots from a pistol. Nothing. I finally killed him by jumping back onboard and hitting him in the face with a cannonball.
Other than that I’ve never had an issue with ping in this game, or rather have not noticed anything significant.
@ixxxoloff After the post, I played about 10-20 more games. 80% of those were people with curses and some of them were even long time players. A few of them had been playing for 3-5 years, so clearly I was outmatched. Normally in other games, my ping is stable at 30 or so. This game is everything between 50 and 80 depending on the servers. I got one balled so many times when I saw that dumb ball fly way above my head. My mast got hit without getting visibly getting hit. Got at least 1 or 2 weapon hit regs in every single match I had as well. I might be the unluckiest person in the game today or the game is seriously whack

Guess it's not a priority then.
The issue lies in the fact they use Microsofft Azure servers, which are quite bad.
That, and we, as a commmunity, have been too nice and accepted this as status quo. I agree with you. This is unacceptable in 2023 in a AAA game backed by Bill Gates

Im experiencing the high pings you speak of now! Hope its fixed soon.
It never used to be as bad as it is now.

Its quite clear that these people don't really do anything with the servers. Literally reworked the golden sands just to do another rework the next patch. They're piling content upon content without doing anything with the servers. I remember I posted something back in the day about the old legendary weapons that you got from arena. Since they shut it down, I was suggesting that they changed how you get it (Something equally time consuming), but they shut the post down within an hour and said "This is the decision we've made". Can't even complete my legendary set because of that. Not only that, but they basically reskinned the weapons and made them unlockable by levels. Its not really difficult at all to get them now. Especially with the veil voyage. Now that the season 8 pvp mode out, the perfect time to do something like that is at this time. Sink 1000 ships to get it. One weapon every 250 ship sunk. Would be a great way to get people to play more pvp and get some use of old content
