Frozen Fangs Idea is fantastic!

    Let me just preface this by saying that I think the artist did an amazing job putting this together. They are truly talented!

    But ever since this artwork surfaced, people have been saying that we should get a frozen region. It's just been a bandwagon that many people have hopped on... Similar to the Man O' War.

    To me, it makes absolutely no sense at all to have an ice region in this game, and I absolutely do not want to see snow and ice when I'm playing a pirate game. The Devil's Roar does make sense, but this frozen glacier thing is just completely out of place for Sea of Thieves, and I really hope that Rare do not spend their valuable time and energy to create something like this in a game where it would not be fitting at all.

    I would much rather they go on to flesh out some of the regions that were talked about in the Art Book, like the Sea of Five Winds.

    How do you NOT see a place for an artic region lol ? Do you realize on planet earth there is an entire continent based on what this guy is trying to portray for the game.

    @eggamer13 of course, but most games are condensed versions of different regions, take breath of the wild for example. If they did something similar I think it could offer a good variety to what is in game already.

    Why people dont see that this doesnt fit into a Carribean setting and argue with other games who have a more global setting or tell me i should open my mind about magic and fantasy when all if this is so far fetched, so artificially argued and so much anti atmospheric and all that as if these players miss a feeling for such things.
    Maybe this is exactly that, they arent immersive players at all and dont care for the lore or a harmoniuos setting and atmosphere.

    With Pirates and the Carribean i have many assoziations.

    But never ever ice or vikings.
    And please dont tell me vikings are pirates, they were not! believe me.
    They plundered yes, they killed yes, but the whole Viking setting is much, much more and in no way ship to ship fighting pirates.
    And yes a viking is a cruise, but not neccessarily hostile.
    A vikingr is a warrior on the sea, also true, but they used their ships to go on Land and plunder there and not to attack other ships.

    This said, i cannot imagine how a vikingr styled Seafarer fits i to the actual setting.
    And regarding the mystic, magic bubble who some already say it's not on earth anymore.
    Did you see the Northstar, did you know that the Shroud is something like the Bermuda triangle.
    I am pretty sure we are just behind a curtain where for sure happen strange magic things, but until i have not seen any hint that vikings time travel or that it gets as could that we will see icebergs.

    The only iceberg i maybe want to see looks like this...

    I love the artwork. Personally I'd love to see some of the regions in the art book, particularly the Sea of the Damned.

    However, I don't see a reason why we couldn't have a region covered in snow. I think that it could be a very cool lore twist having to do with SoT's magic, and could lend to some interesting story-telling ideas. Perhaps a new region is uncovered by the Shroud and everyone wants to know why this areas is covered in snow and ice. It then becomes our job to seek out an explanation.

    I think that a tropical region that's mysteriously covered would lend to some outstanding visuals. Palm trees and coconuts covered in snow sounds pretty cool to me.

    @badrobott I like your idea! Make a mystery out of it. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. That's one of the things the game seems to be lacking for me. I wish they would do more with the monuments, statues, rock and cave paintings. They raise questions, and do have some meaning, but not a lot of depth yet. Weave together some kind of cool mystery/Easter egg like the Battlefield games did with the Phantom Program. Something we could debate and work through together as a community. If it is one thing this group needs, it is a shared purpose! It is possible they have already done so but we have not picked up on it, but I have faith that others would have detected it by now.

    So many people gettin' defensive over an ice zone. Kinda hilarious, honestly.

    Myself, I'm up for anything. Ghost Sea, Windy Sea, Ice Sea... I'll take it all. I like me some lore, but the minute lore tells me I can't have something then it can take a flying leap.

    "Oh, so you'd be fine with giant cotton candy monsters and UFOs?"

    You bet yer tucus I would! Geez Fun Police, get off my back!
