    What I want
    I would like for Rare to, if not already, to start their development of Legend Content; specifically, something beyond Athena's. With the release of Arena in just a few weeks, I obviously don't expect this to be any time soon, but at least soon™?
    I would also like for Rare to finally complete the Athena and Pirate Legend Cosmetic sets. This includes but it not limited to:

    • PL Bucket
    • PL Concertina
    • PL Drums
    • PL Sword (Year one does not count)
    • PL Flintlock
    • PL Blunderbuss (Year one does not count)
    • PL Sniper
    • Athena Sword
    • Athena Flintlock
    • Athena Blunderbuss
    • Athena Sniper
    • Athena Bucket
    • Athena Shovel
    • Athena Spyglass
    • Athena Lantern
    • Athena Tankard
    • Athena Hurdy-gurdy
    • Athena Concertina
    • Athena Drums
    • Athena Timewatch
    • Athena Compass
    • Athena Cannons
    • Athena Wheel
    • Athena Capstan
    • And for the love of the Ocean please make the Athena Hull actually worth 500K Gold because it's just a black hull with green squiggles. At least make the squiggles glow?!

    Any additional items that are not listed above are more than welcome! It has been a year since this game has launched though and it's kind of disappointing to see that the two oldest sets in the game are still the ones that aren't finished; especially when sets like the Kraken and Ocean Crawler Sets are much newer and are already complete. They have full equipment, weapon, and ship sets! It really does feel like Legends have been put on the back burner for the longest time; and it just feels unfair.

    Why I feel this way
    Let's bring back an old quote that I'm sure everyone will remember when I say it.
    "Pirate Legend is when your adventure truly begins"
    I'm sure everyone remembers that, right? Well, that was a blatant lie. Pirate Legend is actually the halfway point of the game. After that there is Athena's and that's it; and let's not forget, Athena's themselves are just rehashed versions of what you did to get to Legend! So it's not even anything new. Same content, new name.
    Ever since this game came out there have been very limited updates to Legends. The most notable one being the oh so controversial, Athena Commendations. I will admit, I myself was not a fan of the Athena Commendations. In fact, I hate them. Why? A very simple reason. I was Athena 10 when the Commendations were introduced, and since Rare never tracked any of our previous progress; I had the joyful experience of login in and having the game tell me I've never done an Athena's in my life. Tilting to say the least.
    These Athena Commendations were meant as "A way for Legends to achieve new goals". Well I'm sorry to inform you Rare but completing 30 Athena voyages was anything but new to me. And since Rare also decided to lock all of their new shiny items behind all these new Commendations that put everyone on square one I quit Sea of Thieves. So did all of my friends that played it. Why? We felt cheated. We were all high ranked Athena's, why should we be on the same slate as Joe Shmoe who just got to Legend yesterday? It wasn't fair, and quite irritating. So we Boycott the game, and waited till Rare did something about it. Gave us some sort of compensation for their mistake, but we waited in vain and our interest in the game diminished.
    I am only even here, on this forum, because I am interested in The Arena, though none of my former mates feel the same. They still feel betrayed and refuse to even re-download the game. And I feel the only way they'd be willing to consider coming back is if Rare promises to finally take us off the back burner. Or at least apologize for the way you've treated Legends. It's like Legends are Harry Potter, and Rare are the Aunt & Uncle. Rare is only doing the bare minimum to keep us alive; not to keep us happy.

    Conclusion
    To end this off, let me recap. I'd like all of the items I mentioned above to finally be brought into the game; relatively soon. And I'd like Rare to acknowldge their poor handling of Legends and to announce some sort of Roadmap or date we can expect content to come to us. Again! I do not expect anything immediate since Arena is coming out very soon! The only thing I would like to see is for Joe Neate to say something along the lines of, "Legends, sorry we've put you off for so long; we're working to give you a much needed update!" in one of his Dev updates. Do I expect that? No. Would it make me scream like a little girl if it happened? Hell yeah, brother! Though I doubt any of the Devs even care about what I say, it still makes me feel better to put my thoughts out there. I can at least say I tried to make a difference.

    I do agree with you about the content :)
    But in a way they didn't really lie, the quote is quite accurate and if someone thought PL grind was bad well then they are in for a surprise for A10 :)

    @eviltortoise A10 takes about as long as PL grind, it just feels longer.

    I guess you are right but in a way it's more time consuming because you can't do any type of small progress except for the commendations, you always need to go through all 8 maps to get to the Athena :)

    However it was mostly a joke, i do agree with you about all the content. I can't even imagine that they don't have the ghost set weapons etc already completed and just haven't added it.

    I agree to a certain extent, maybe something is being worked on, but possibly on the back burner.
    Pretty sure the "Anniversary & Arena" updates have their complete attention at the moment.

    With there being more PL's in general after the "big" push... Rare will probably have a greater focus on A10 rewards. The number of A10's can only increase in time, and they will need to be engaged with, rewarded, and possibly the in-game progression of the Athena tier further expanded.

    Guess.. we will have to wait & see...

    Their focus on content for all, the Anniversary update along with Arena for me the correct approach for existing players & commercially right. Whilst A10s have in some cases been waiting for what seems to them a long time, you have to bear in mind the whole PL - A10 thing was never in RAREs scope at launch. It is an addition in itself to the original game. Never planned.

    So with that said.. so we can all benefit... content for all is better. Rather than simply ( what could be ) re-skins of existing cosmetics to appease PL's attaining A-10. Which if they were introduced many people would then inevitably say "I don't like it, its the wrong colour... "or some other similar expression of distain.

    Do I believe that RARE won't add A-10 cosmetics or new content?
    Not for one moment, their focus for me is on the grander picture.. to benefit all at this time.

    I have a feeling that PL - A-10s ( A general discussion me & me maties where having ) might be pleasantly surprised on what could be on the horizon.

    There are a lot of changes in & around the game sometimes you just have to look a little closer.. that is as much of a hint, nudge & wink as I can go into.
