Dude ... where's my ship

  • I love that you can drink in-game and I would like to tie some activities to it:

    1. Fist fights - Make pubs a safe place for crews to meet without killing each other; but if you get drunk you can throw fists.
    2. Pass out drunk - Make it so after 10 or so grog you pass out if you never sobered up. When you wake up you have the snake bite affliction for about 30 seconds.
    3. Drinking games in the port pub.
    4. Sirens - First add sirens who make you come to their call, and even make you steer the ship towards them when sailing. Make it so you can only ignore this call if you are drunk or if someone is playing music near you to drown them out. You would have to be drunk to carry something past them alone.
    5. Finally: The "Dude ... Where's my ship?" Secret Mission.
    • Can only be done with a full Galleon Crew.
    • You all get pass out drunk at the same time whilst on your ship. It only works when you do not have an active quest already loaded. (this mission could not interrupt an active quest for example so if you wanted to avoid this quest while you all party just load up a quest).
    • When you wake up you are on a random island, wearing opposite gender clothing or are in your underwear and you have a new quest loaded. Also your ship is not in sight.

    Quest details:
An introduction to Sirens and to the brand new Row Boat.
Somehow during your partying and revelry you have offended the mermaids. The will not take you to your ship during this quest. You wake up in your underwear or in opposite gender clothes, and your ship is missing.
You have a quest loaded which explains that you were bewitched by sirens who have your ship. Mermaids tried to help you but you ignored them at your peril and now they are annoyed with you.
Your first clue leads you to dig up a bottle clue somewhere on the island which shows you which direction your ship is in.
At the beach heading off towards your ship is the new Row Boat moored to your island. You have to get to the next island which is within swimming\rowing distance (or catch a ride with another ship if you are lucky).
You get to the new island, fight skeletons, find clues, rinse\repeat a little as you island hop a couple times. If you die you spawn at your rowboat. If your row boat sinks it spawns at the last island you were at.
Finally you find the Sirens hideout, (located inside some of the miscellaneous giant rocks we have sailed past a million times) your clues have lead you at some point to a key which you now use to unlock the secret cave door whose entrance can only be accessed by standing on your rowboat and unlocking the door. The doorway is too small to let anything inside that is bigger than your rowboat.
Inside is your ship. You must battle through the sirens, either by staying drunk (so there will be many mead refill barrels in the cave) \ but try to avoid pass out drunk \ or by having a teammate play music as you battle. Sirens will draw you towards them and disable your attack until they attack you. After you have been hit by anything, you are also immune to their call for 4 seconds. Sirens are beautiful until you are very close.
Once all the sirens are defeated you may unlock a larger cave door from the inside which is big enough to sail your Galleon out. When you board your ship it is full of gold hoarders treasures and littered with skulls from the sirens many victims. (nothing from the merchants guild however)
You see that your Galleon has a new attachment on it which you can use to hook the rowboat up to and hoist it up under the rear captains deck.
In the future if your Galleons rowboat is destroyed it spawns back to your ship. The sloop does not get a row boat.

  • Side not, Sirens face should look snake like when up close to their face. This is why music works on them just like snakes. Also why your hangover is basically the snake effect. Its all connected man.

  • That is an awesome idea for a quest and would be a great fun way to introduce the rowboat.

  • Also add any drinking related expansions to this quest.
