Question to PC players (Mic volume)

    Hi all, I feel like I've ran out of ressources and ideas now:

    I usually use Discord which works just fine, but whenever I play with XBOX players and have to use the party chat, or even the in game chat, my Mic volume is extremely low and I find myself unable to alter than in any way (WIN 10).

    I've tried new drivers, I've tried looking into the XBOX app barebone options, nothing does it. Discord works just fine, the in game chat works OK, but the XBOX APP makes my voice extremely quiet.

    Anyone else run into this problem?

    @verminpup Yeah, i have to crank my mic boost way up for people to hear me in the party or in game chat.

    Ah sorry, should have said in OP. I'm using the SONY USB wireless headset (Originally made for PS3):

    It works fine with Discord and in Overwatch and on everything else I've played before really. Win10 won't let me alter the actual mic volume, so Im assuming it's usually handle by whatever software I'm using.

    @verminpup Not sure if this is related but I used to have a turtle beach xbox headset that I would use on my PC as well. Whenever I joined xbox party chat on my PC it made a really really loud buzzing noise.

    Since then I got a new headset and party chat works fine.

    Interesting, I've had a few people join in with that really loud buzzing noise on XBOX party chat, but that is not an issue I've been having.

    What I'm understanding is that it may be related to having a USB headset with windows 10 not letting you alter mic volume, and so if the App itself doesn't do it for you, you're a little screwed.

    I'd like to know there's a work around that wouldn't involve me getting a non-USB headset though?

    Hmm yeah, I was thinking that it would be software related but I'm not sure what software handles that. I use a USB wireless corsair headset, I think I had to up my mic volume in my Corsair volume mixer.

    Hm, I'm confused by what you mean by this. My current headset is USB.

    Hm, I'm confused by what you mean by this. My current headset is USB.

    When I go in my sound settings to alter my mic input volume, it's greyed out and I cannot alter it. I tried installing drivers but it remains the same.
