Athena's Fortune Rep Gains - Second Pass.

  • We know that it takes a total of 93 Chest of Legends in order to hit Rank 10 in the Athena's Fortune faction.

But as someone who hit Rank 8 in Athena's and haven't touched it in almost two weeks, I can say unequivocally it is absolutely a miserable experience. Assuming that you don't "speed run" the missions, and you don't cycle through the Voyages to find the best possible one within reason, it can take you anywhere between two to three hours per Athena's Fortune quest.

This is all assuming that nothing goes wrong such as an Allmondbeard. We can easily see though how this means you are looking at roughly 200 to 300 hours to just get a mere ten ranks. And this would only get exponentially worse if the rank cap was hypothetically increased down the road.

Going from a max of 10 to say, a max Rank of 15 would mean that in order to go from 14 to 15 you would need to turn in 34 chests. For one rank. Which means you could spend 70 to almost 100 hours for a single rank.

I personally feel that Legends should get passive Athena's Fortune experience for simply doing other voyages. I greatly enjoy Order of Souls and Goldhoarders, by themselves. But I don't get anything from these besides gold at this point and increases to my commendation score.

Rare, would I be asking too much of Athena's Fortune's rep gain was given a second look at? Please?

How about a random chance to find a legendary quest, fight a new legendary skeleton (super strong+spawns like 20 sword skeletons), or a legendary animal (maybe like a snake only visible at night)

  • How about some variety? Like actual missions that are unique instead of doing regular voyages +?

    • Sink a ship and get a legendary item reward
    • Kill a world boss and get a legendary reward
    • Help a player finish a quest and you get a map that leads to a legendary item

I mean these ideas aren't remotely perfect but its something instead of literally NG+, what is this dark souls: prepare to grind edition?
