Sick of all of the connection errors

  • I really like this game when it works but I'm sick and tired of all the connection errors. Every 1 in 3 times I try to play the game simply won't connect for a million different reasons. Lost connection to server, lost connection to xbox live, lost connection to internet, connecting to sea of thieves error. I just sat here trying to play for an hour and a half and only got to play for 15 minutes. All my other online games work great. It's just this one acting up and it is ridiculously bad. Even the other MMO's I play run just fine. I'm honestly debating demanding a refund if something isn't done soon.

  • We just were about to to head to outpost to trade in 15k+ worth of skulls and chests when all of us Disconnected , so there goes 2 hours of hard work, we spend 30 mins only on one island because skeletons wouldnt spawn and we kept going back and forth

    always start with internet service provider when it is the internet as you waste time in all other places
    call your internet service provider

    Well, those issues on the island should have been a warning that you don't hoard 15k and go to outposts frequently.

  • @cattaleyaathena it’s the game has nothig to do with the internet they are aware of the disconnection issues but don’t care to fix the s**t already sent in request and they showed it as solved and said they were fixing it on the April 4rth update but have yet to fix the issue

    Microsoft and Rare cannot fix internet problems they do not run or own or maintain it
    call your internet service providers

  • I have the same problem. I've lost more loot to disconnects than other pirates, which is very frustrating.

    I agree that connectivity should be addressed with the ISP, but the game design is unusually punishing for disconnects. The fact that the OPs (and my) other online games work fine suggests that it's a SoT problem.

    Regardless of the wisdom of hoarding treasure, the risk should be from other pirates that you can fight, not server dropouts that you can't.

    The developer is responsible for building a game that doesn't bone you for something out of your control. They need to find a way to fix the problem. For example, your ship automatically drops anchor and stays in game for 15 minutes after the last of the crew disconnects and you can load back in on it within that time frame. SOLVED.

    If the disconnects continue I'm going to take a break from the game until the issue is addressed. As will other players.

  • @cattaleyaathena that’s were u make no sense it’s not the internet it’s there servers again has nothing to do with it if I can play gta5 online then I can play this game online gta5 is massively much larger of a game and THEY have said they have server issue it’s nothing to do with the internet but the SERVERS that they are unable to maintain

  • They know the issue ... But i belive they don't maleta nothing ... It's more importante the color of the hair un Game ... I opened a ticket for 1month they dont give me soluciona, only day, web know. We need make a massive Sue

    I can feel with you and I think we should focus together. There are several reasons out there for losing connection to the servers but hearing the same complaints from many different players, makes me even more suspicious, that there is more likely to be a problem from Xbox Live facing us, rather than internet provider failures or false network settings...

    Since you mentioned that it only happens while trying to play Sea of Thieves but not with other games, what also many other players mentioned it makes it more obvious.

  • I’ve been experiencing similar problems on Xbox. Today I logged in at noon got a full crew and we looted our spawn island for supplies and sailed towards a skull fort. Halfway there we all got the almond beard disconnect error shortly after it looked like our ship was going to capsize sideways. We all reconnect and get to a new server and new supplies. We get to a skull fort sink three enemy ships and complete 8 skull waves, then we all disconnected again almond beard. During one of the PVP fights two of us also got Cyanabeard disconnects too. That was almost four hours water today for four people. I’ve had this issue several times since the update and before the update it was way more frequent. Somehow I’ve made it to level 25, 24, 23 in the factions but if these disconnects weren’t so frequent I’m sure I’d be over level 30 in all factions. I’m to the point I’ve bought another game and will play it until the server instability is resolved.

    I never get disconnect from any other game or from Xbox love so it has to be a SOT issue. I’ve also spent hours changing my router settings as suggested by others in the forums to no avail. Ugh

  • I’m really sick and tired of these stupid disconnections.
    The past three nights I have been trying to play with my friend and so far each night we spend 3 or more hours doing voyages all for nothing because of Cyanbeard.
    This is getting ridiculous.
    Like everyone else, other online games work perfectly fine. We played Overwatch multiplayer after the 4th failed attempt last night just fine with no connection issues.
    My internet is working and running fine. My phone has WiFi and even after Sea of Thieves claiming I lost connection to Xbox live, I could still go to the home screen and clearly view other people streaming their own SoT gameplay.
    I’m completely annoyed and frustrated.
    First I couldn’t get much done in the game because of being camped or hunted down, (and your solution to that is for the hunted target to scuttle and spawn elsewhere. FYI, that won’t always work, since last night the galleon that chased me down prior to scuttling, found me again and then tried chasing me off of the edge of the map...Explain how that solves the griefing since the said griefers will still continue to do what they do...), and now I can’t get anything done because your game likes to keep telling me my Xbox live connection is lost when it’s clearly not.
