June Bilge Rats Weekender: Challenges Not Updated, Black Markets Not Updated

  • So, the Bilge Rats Weekender has started, but neither Duke's nor Larinna's inventory have been updated, and the Bilge Rats challenges presumably still are the same as last time (empty page for me, and I got a notification that I have completed all challenges).
The only thing they actually updated was Duke's location.

  • I have the same problem, evidently at this point it's canon, in Sea of Thieves there's a curse that breaks every mechanic. Has anyone found where Duke has moved yet?

  • i guess their claim they were going to put it on a monthly cosmetic rotation meant starting next season. and this weekender was only added to give people more opportunity to obtain what they might have missed last weekend. either way it just more bad communication and design of the doubloon reset. the whole point of the reset was to give us the old doubloon cosmetics and limited income opportunity to farm for them for longevity and they are just letting us earn it all right away. so why even do the reset? to pad our playtime for a few more hours? whats the trivial point of it all?

  • What, no- there were supposed to be new items added EVERY Bilge Rats Weekender. The earliest ones are supposed to rotate out after one year.

    They changed that

Larinna will now launch her stock with a Season's worth of items (i.e. 3 months' worth), this will happen at the launch of each Season instead of being refreshed during each Weekender.

    and

In exactly the same way as Larinna, Duke will now also launch his stock with a Season's worth of items (i.e. 3 months' worth), this will also happen at the launch of each Season instead of being refreshed during each Weekender.
Again, when the following Season starts, the next batch of items will be added to the shop (instead of replaced), continuously 'stacking' the items so Duke's stock will grow over time too.

    That's terrible. even less content.

Anyway, servers just went down, seems they are fixing something. Probably the Bilge Rats challenges.

  • Black Market will get new stock every Month - starting in Season 20.

For Season 19 we received the entire season's worth of cosmetics in one drop - so no new stock for this final Weekender of Season n n n n n n n n n 19.

    Not true.

The amount of content stays the same, it will just be available at the start of the Season instead of spread out over each month/weekender.
Remember, we got two items at introduction of these new black markets, one for each month left in the Season.

  • @lem0n-curry yea drew said in his latested "were sorry" update that they supposedly saw feed back that the cosmetics not rotating is a problem so they are changing it. i dunno if that means reverting to the old plan of splitting then offerings which would be lame. just showing less of the cosmetics. but i imagine as they do everything off data they have noticed people look at the shop. see they have everything already, logout to never return. though the idea of a rotating event calander would mean something new ever weekend. weve only had to bilgerat weekends basically book ending the season. they made it sound like it would be once a month. also literally having 1 weekend event per 4 weeks makes for a very lack luster season and future. and having weekends be the only time worth playing also bad for the future. its like they are trying to sink the ship at this point. they put grubs on the stove. are smashing into every rock and refusing to patch holes. just waiting for the slow sink

  • Whaaat? another bugged event? Who could have guessed

If Drew's update was after the introduction of Duke's black market, then it was too late to change the content already in the black market, so we got this "weekender content" last month; and we might get starting from next season, monthly new content instead of everything at the start.
If Drew's update was before that, its content might be superseded by the linked quotes from about 3 months ago.

Edit, in the video he said

Therefore, in Season 20, we're going to switch back to the original design and both Duke and Larinna's markets will then restock every month rather than in one big drop at the start of the Season.

It was because the change made after IOnsiders feedback didn't line up with feedback from live ...

As this is still Season 19, the OP's complaint doesn't hold water.

  • We knew this for 3+ months and even had a video about it; it was clear, and we were warned.
Communication has gone down the drain somehow. :(

Just like Larinna’s Black Market, the oldest Season’s cosmetics will rotate out after one year, so each item will be available for approximately a year before it leaves the Smugglers’ Market.
