Commandeer Skeleton Ships

    Someone mentioned to me that a long time ago there was an event where you could clear the crew of a skeleton ship and then sail it but doing so would cause skeleton ships to spawn and chase you down relentlessly.

    This would be really cool to have implemented but with some new features.

    The order of souls will purchase commandeered skeleton ships, it must simply be close by and a dialogue option is available to sell.

    Skeleton ships do spawn to chase you down but its not relentless. Their spawn will be a lot higher though and the persuing ships wont have loot onboard to exploit.

    What this will allow?

    Faster ships. You gotta work for it though and take out a whole crew of skellies but your crew will have 2 ships now.

    Sell it or use it.

    I think it would be fun 😁

    It would be cool to commandeer a skelly ship and sail it. Not sure about selling it though. I would expect a hefty sum for a whole ship. Especially when it costs you half a million to buy the PL ghost ship livery.

    @qu1etone Perhaps taking selling off the table and just enjoying the ship as it is, a faster and hard hitting vessel that you have to esrn as oppose to spawn with.

    Id be happy with that.

    It used to be an event too at one point according to somebody i sailed with.

    I have been playing this game since release. I do not remember ever being able to take over skelly ships? 🤔

    Skeleton ships are sentient in their own right. The crew does not control the rudder, sails, or anchor, it's the ship doing that. As such, even crewless, they cannot be commandeered. There was a glitch back in the Cursed Sails event where all NPCs wouldn't spawn, including the crews of skeleton ships. You'd be able to freely walk on board, but you couldn't affect the wheel, and the rigging was already gone.

    Apparently it was an event.

    I havent been playing since the game launch so like i said, this is what I was told. Whether or not its true doesnt really matter though, the concept is pretty cool.

    Nope. Never happened.

    Good idea though. Although if your ship sank, would you lose the skelly ship too? I know as a solo player that will probably mean I won't bother with it, but keep good solo sloopers like my kid and me from
    getting an op skellie ship lol.
