Cursed ship sunken, no reward and they respawn again

  • So we sank those 2 ships but they respawned and the fight begun again.
    no rewards...nothing.

  • @albert-8-fish Still trying to figure it out myself

  • It works like the forts. It comes in 5 waves of 2 until a captain spawns. Also each individual ship has loot and supplies scattered on it.

  • @stillsameguy is it 5 waves of 2 ships EVERY time ?!? And whats the best strategy to comepleting these battles ?!? Me and my crew are having trouble

  • @chitownsace3 my crew gun powder their bottom deck that works well

  • @stillsameguy is that confirmed as I see some posts where players say they’ve beaten 7 waves and one saying they got to 13 waves before giving up

  • @chitownsace3 Gunpowder Kegs are key. Then, as you would in any fight with a Galleon, board and try to keep them from repairing.

  • @crowcomics @chitownsACE3

It seems to be a random amount of ship waves every time - every battle has been different so far.

  • It's such an annoying event. You are fighting ships which have unlimited cannonballs with your limited amount. Then you get a cursed cannonball to the face and can't even repair your ship while they keep shooting you to bits. I don't think I have ever had less fun in SoT than with this event. Hungering Deep was 5x better than Cursed Sails.

  • @x1-two A better implementation would have been only one person at random or closest to the shot is effected not the entire crew. This would always leave someone or two to keep bailing and or repairing. It was fun but we didn’t see anyone around to help us so got frustrating losing our ship

  • @x1-two definitely sounds disheartening... imma have to alliance it up, it sounds.

  • @albert-8-fish Yep. We took out 9 ships still before time ran out. I bieleve the captain ship despawned and we wede forced to start from scratch. 3/10 for cursed sails just wasted literally 8 hours needs to be shut down and seriously polished before re realese.

  • Just completed 1 zone with just our galleon server was empty. Had to sink 8 ships then 2 more spawned 1 of which had the captain. Kill the captain. Last ship with captain has best treasure and unlocks commendations.

  • @crowcomics I'm not entirely sure, but from personal experience it's been 5. If all ships go far enough from the area they despawn and it restarts from wave 1, so that might have something to do with it, but I wasn't there so can't say.

  • @chitownsace3 I've had the best luck with trying to get at least one other ship to help, be well supplied before the fight, and have at least 2 people board to stop repairs.

  • I believe it is different per each battle. The Wilds was 5 waves of 2, the Shores of plenty was 4 waves of 2.

  • @albert-8-fish it pretty much 5 waves.. and if you take too long.. it might start over.. If your in a Sloop.. try to stay behind them.. it prevents them from shooting you.. and don't go full speed.. keep your ship turning in circles behind them.. and have one member jump on the back side of thier boat with a powder keg.. the sloop is much more manuverable.. so just try not to let them get a good shot at you.. and you'll be fine.. if your in an alliance its much easier. We've found that ships with captains on them drop 5 skull chests and at least 1 to 3 nice skulls. other ships without captains just drop random stuff.. you can really come out of this with many chests if your able to grab them before the next wave starts.

  • I have had 5 waves of 2 ships almost every time.

Here are some tactic's to defeat these ships: have 1 someone board the ship with a powder barrel and ignite it and stay alive to defend the holes blasted in. if you get blasted to much bij cannons, then let the boarder kill the skellitons that are manning the guns this releafs a lot of tension on your own ship.

Just try out alot of things and keep good communication up so you know what everyone on your crew is doing and always man your own ship with atleast 2 people. that way you keep your own ship a float.

Also go fully stacked to a fighting zone this helps alot.
All the Skelly ships once killed leave barrels in the water with supply's might you run out at any time.

Hope these things might help you guys abit along the journey!

  • Doing shores of plenty (which is the only one I can do due to time commitments atm) there were 8 ships in total.

My advice is to sink the captain's ship last as the loot doesn't stay floating in the water for long and that is the best loot to collect even if splitting with an alliance.

Best tactic I've used so far is gunpowder barrels.
Go to a fort and gather a lot of gunpowder barrels and put them in the crows nest.
When the ship spawns get a crew member to jump to their ship and blow it up on the bottom deck and then stop the skellies repairing, they will sink very quickly especially if your crew is hitting them at the top deck with cannons! Or the alliance ships.

This helps save a lot of supplies as if no one is stopping them repairing you can go through 30+ cannonballs easily without sinking a single one and with 8 to fight.....there may be a lot of respawns and returning before they despawn.

  • when it works like forts the wave dosent reset if im sunk and spawn far away out of range?(no ther ship is at the raid)some meant it does reset but that would be super unfair.

  • @crowcomics 13 is when the fleet battle starts over again or if someone kept leaving the spawning area continuously during mid battle.

  • @crowcomics the cursed cannonballs are AoE based and don’t effect the entire ship unless it specifically affects the ship itself. Smaller ships like brig and sloop have no chance against the curses but galleons fair better.

  • @weedstar-deluxe it entirely resets unless there is another ship there. Sinking is like leaving the ring in a boxing match, You’re out.
