New scary wind gust?

    Anyone else noticed a strange sound while out on the sea? It sounds like a scary wind gust or something...

    Was it the meg? I know the sound of the waves intensifies when it shows up

    No. Nothing like that. It sounds like a mix of a scary wind gust and a airplane to be honest. Heard it several times while out finding the mermaid statues. And a friend of mine heard it also several times while sailing with me.

    I just wonder if others have heard it too?

    I'm hearing all kinds of new scary stuff.
    I heard some weird skeleton noices just a few minutes ago while I was at sea.

    I heard some strange sounds as well. Hadn't spent much time on mermaid statues, so I thought maybe that was it when I found a statue nearby, but the sound popped up again pretty quickly. It's almost certainly a just a little tease for Cursed Sails.

    I heard the wind howling at Ancient Spire when I spawned in. It was like a big storm was happening but the skies were clear. Figured it was a bug. It was so annoying and loud though that I just left the game and server hopped.

    After reading everyone's comments, I bet all the spooky sounds are an intended harbinger of the Cursed Sails dlc/skeleton ships. Similar to what they did with all the crazed sharks for Hungering Deep. It's creating in-game atmospheric hype. :D

    After a fellow Boatswain pointed that out the other night I can't help but notice now everytime that I hear it - "oh, it's 3am in game!"

    @sshteeve 3am 3:15am and 3:30am from what I remember (could be a bit off....) someone made videos about it a while back
