Balancing xbox and PC crossplay

    Clearly rare needs to do something about this huge gap between xbox and PC.
    This game clearly needs to do some balancing so that it can be on par with other twitch shooters like r6 siege and counterstrike. Because this game is clearly a twitch shooter and needs settings to match. PC players are pixel peeking xbox players all over the place because they have more frames etc.

    It's not like xbox players can get a mouse and keyboard adapter.
    It's not like they can get advanced controllers with macros and other settings.
    It's not like some PC players enjoy using a controller over mouse and keyboard.
    It's not like some PC's are actually worse than xbox's on terms of settings either.

    This is all due to the imbalance of the game and clearly not because a small amount of people need a scapegoat for their lack of skill.
    So please rare give xbox players the option to turn off crossplay so they can find a new scapegoat. Then maybe you can add separate servers based on what type of TV you have.
    I dont think if I have an old CRT TV that I should be paired against those with a 4k 60 inch screen.
    Also after you do that allow me to have another separate option so I can only be paired with people who have the original xbox controller I shouldn't be paired with those with modded controllers/mouse and keyboard.

    Please as I said this game needs all of these different servers and options so we can be on an even playing field in a twitch shooter such as this.

    Due to comments from people here I will make a list of things that can cause imbalance and we need toggles for when matchmaking happens:

    1. PC vs xbox
    2. Different peripherals such as razer, steelseries,logitech.
    3. Controller vs mouse keyboard vs mouth controller
    4. Different monitors or TV's
    5. Your seating. Example: chair desk combo, couch, coffee table
    6. How much sleep you got the night before
    7. What type of drug is in your system at the time: caffeine, alcohol, etc.
    8. Whether or not you are wearing socks.

    There are so many more things. We need to fill out a form that rare needs to build to provide the best matchmaking experience for this twitch shooter. Please rare give us a 30 page form so we can get matched with people on the same level.

    Clearly satire goes over some heads in these forums. Whether it be from not understanding satire or because this post seems too close to some real posts on these forums. Or me being too vague.

    OH great this thread again...

    This entire form is a great place to find sweet-sweet xbox players tears, an endless supply some might say.

    I bet Rare uses all these xbox tears to fill the seas in game!

    Honestly though Ive never met a more whiny bunch. Do you guys see any PC players crying about having to play with you guys?

    P.S. Who wants to play any first person game with anything other than a KB/M?

    Me. And I'm on PC. I couch game and it's more comfortable. I've even played OW with a controller and done just fine. Old school PC gamers need to get it out of your head that you can't play with a controller. You just need to learn to use the thing properly.

    I've seen very very little advantage in this game on PC other than the FPS (I tried it on my old Day One Xbox One and wow that 30FPS is rough!).

    I was talking to a friend on Xbox One X the other night and I was surprised that the X version doesn't have a performance mode(?). That seems a bit daft that they are not at least given the option of 1080p/60fps.

    Also, to the OP, this is not a typical twitch shooter. The game wasn't built around the shooting like in the examples you gave.

    I am not trolling you, honestly. But notice I didn't say I wouldn't do better with K&M?

    I just said I choose to play with a controller because it is perfectly feasible and it's more comfortable to me, and that's more important.

    But no doubt you'll get up on your high horse like all the other PC m*********e crowd.

    @realstyli Not getting on any horse. Just don't try and tell me a gamepad gives you the same control as a KB/M for any FPS game.

    More comfortable, that's entirely a users preference and I can agree with that.

    @lobofh good idea we need separate servers based on peripherals in general. For PC players there should be on option to play on steelseries, razer, logitech etc.
    Also need servers based on what type of chair you have because that obviously can give you even more of an advantage. We are onto something here.

    More power to you. I find it more comfortable to play at a desk. Better posture, don't have to constantly hold on to a controller because M&KB are just sitting there on their own, two monitors so I can check other things while playing, plenty of space to put food and drink in arms reach. Just beats a couch in so many ways, and I feel like sitting upright increases concentration. Maybe that is the key difference between consoles and PC..

    @nebenkuh oh my goodness you are right there is another point people playing on a couch should not be forced to play with people sitting in a chair or at a desk.
    The amount of extra concentration and posture could create even more imbalance in the game.

    @sexysev where do you think all the water in sea of thieves comes from. The tears of console users like me. Let's agree to disagree. As a person who played pc games and switched to console let me say that pc players have more finesse with their controls and more tuning can be done for them than can be done with a controller I've tried fighting pc players using my Xbox controller and even a pc player just starting out has a clear advantage over the controller. Please just add an option to remove crossplay.

    Don't even get me started on coffee. When I get home to play, I've had at least 5 cups of coffee over the course of the day. I think I should get my own server, or maybe crossplay with the m**h addicts. Otherwise, I just have too big of an advantage over people who're not yet allowed to drink coffee, and I really don't want to be unfair!

    Couch fanboys are going to kill me but I play my PS4 in my desk, she is sitting near my computer and she is connected to the PC monitor. I played in the couch with the PS3 and I always hated it.

    And I play a lot of my PC games with controller. Videogames miscegenation!

    I have a coworker who uses his Xbox the same way, on a desk with a monitor. He always tries to convince me to buy an Xbox so we can play Battlefield together. The funny part? He also owns a 3k PC but refuses to play on it. I think that's why I don't like Xbox very much tbh.

    There is no problem with cross play. Your argument of saying if i have an old tv I shouldn't be paired against someone with 4k? Are you kidding me? PC world have the largest gaps in hardware and that is just within our "console". "I have a 760 and playing on 720p I shouldn't play against a pc player with a 1080ti and on 4k monitor" This isn't r6 .... this is an arcadey game. R6 the bullet kill instantly from yards away and are actual size and so are the hit boxes. The bullets in sea of thieves are the size of your fist and the hit boxes are huge. This is a cross platform game, Microsoft marketed it as a cross platform game and it's a successful title for the cross platform and Microsoft won't allow that to change because that will affect profits and will affect future sales for future cross platform titles. This same tired argument is going no where. Also, Yes pc player will use controllers I and friends will use ours on occasion and do just fine.

    @nebenkuh I tend to play a lot of driving games like forza, ETS and the such like, so using a xbox pad is way easier than using KB and mouse, plus I am too stingy to buy a wheel and peddles when an xbox pad works just fine.

    To be clear to those that could not realize this from my first post. This is satire, I think this whole crossplay argument is silly which is why I wrote this piece.
