  • can we change the name of this game to sea of snowflakes. the amount of cry babies moaning about being killed in pvp is beyond preschool

pretty much what it says. every other forum or community post i see on any platform is some little cry baby moaning they have been killed in a pvp pirate game! the name needs to be changed to accommodate these delicate little petals and keep players who enjoy pvp away for them as its clearly to much for them. i had one person try to argue that killing a person in game more then once is the same as bullying them at school or following someone down the street and literally harassing them in real life. i love the game but the moaning about pvp is to much.

  • It's not the getting killed it's the people that you kill once or many times because they decide I am just going to chase these people until they quit the game.

Yeah I know change server but it is pretty rampant. If your in the middle of a voyage with lots of loot you don't want to change servers.

  • sigh
Well, that's not offensive in the slightest...

Has everybody on this forum lost the ability to put a constructive point forward? Has control over the English language lessened somewhat?

You came on to cry about people crying, right?

  • I think they would cry less if there wasn't the random stuff going on like when i was on an island a ship instead of jumping aboard to see if they could steal anything just parked along side to sink me. I watched from the island as had nothing so whatever. The best bit is how often they still missed when both ships where stationary. I think the issue is there is no risk reward to just sinking anyone. most of the time they just sink mored ships like whats the fun in that! They should implement a system like rogue in the dz that rewards successful attacks but marks you as a bounty and you lose if you fail to out sail your bounty timer. This would give purpose to it all and keep the fun. Or as you can just sail around with a timer make it so you have to get to an specific outpost to clear the bounty thus creating a conflict zone almost as they try to get the bounty cleared but also knowing others know there destination.

  • Change it to something PLZ! I mean my ship is overloaded with Salt from salty "YOUR A HACKER" screaming 12 year olds... Also PC m*********e, dont get it wrong console kiddies

  • Solid constructive post, most certainly helps fix the issue.

As for the people complaining about PvP, its because it is pretty broken at this point. There is low risk high reward for PvPers and that's what some people are getting at.

There are whiners yes, but then there are also flamers like what this post appears to be. To me, this post is no better than the people spamming "No crossplay" "PvE servers" "Skeleton cannons OP".

  • @oneshotwokill87 and you are also a crybaby who is moaning and crying about other crybabies and I suppose that also makes me a crybaby.

  • I love listening the them cry. This is a pvp game, end of story. It isn't griefing, it is pvp. Nothing needs fixed, it is working as intended. You win some you lose some.

  • @volksturm That's the thing isn't it. People who just PvP and don't invest in voyages don't lose anything. Even if they get sunk, they lost nothing. The only people actualy losing anything are those who bother to gather chests, skulls and animals.

  • Yeah, we sunk this guys sloop that had about ten chests on it. We cashed them all in. No joke, this guy came at our galleon for two hours in a solo sloop, cussing us, calling us every name in the book. I mean, get a life man, its a game lol.

  • It's all according if they are trying to steal you treasure/Sink your Ship or just saying hello no point killing someone for fun.

This Inst Last Man Standing This Is Sea Of Thieves :)

  • You know, hurling insults does not a point make. Neither does it further your argument. "Ad Hominem" fallacy comes to mind. So does projection.

But what if there was merit to what some of these people are claiming? I would agree that some of them are blown out of proportions since there very much is a PvP component to the game. Some people are genuinely surprised when they find another ship full of players. I know I encountered that once before. It was quite humorous actually.

But what I think they are mostly complaining about would be things like spawn camping, chasing them down as soon as they respawn, and so on. Being shot at every now and then I suspect is fine, but the non-stop PvP isn't so fun. Remember what I said above, PvP is a component to the game and not the core. Just like PvE is a component to the game and not the core.

The core of the game is player interaction. When you go all PvP only with guns constantly ablaze, you diminish the core of the game. When player interaction is no longer predictable, you diminish the game for what it is striving to be which is a sailing adventure full of uncertainty.

So I think all in all, people are just tired of the Kill On Sight mentality that has prevailed relatively recently.

  • I do voyages and pvp. There isn't enough pvp for that to be the only thing to do in this game. I have won and lost. But I have never cried on a public forum about losing.

Yes, this isn't last man standing it is Sea of Thieves. In order to be a thief you have to take what isn't yours. There is a couple ways to do that, sneak on board and grab a chest or sink the tub and take them all. The way you lose your loot doesn't matter, its lost.

  • Literally half this thread is people throwing buzzwords and nonsense, and half this post is actually constructive posts, take a guess at which side of the argument is which.

  • @faal-zoor-kriid The risk is the fact that you get significantly less reputation per minute played doing PvP.

  • i was thinking "Sea of Treas"

  • @kyser-soze-23 Wait, you spent two hours collecting loot and didn't stop to turn your loot in at an outpost???? That's on you dude.

I think it's fine to be upset, I wouldn't say the OP was wrong to feel a certain way but it's not fine to turn into a mannerless and offensive c****n just because you're upset.

People seem to forget that respect is earned, you cannot steal hijack or command respect you earn it. If you want good manners from someone try giving them first. If you post passive aggressively or negatively about someone you should expect an aggressive reply.

You came on to cry about people crying, right?

If you find the OP offensive you very likely fit the criteria of a "snowflake". And posting about an issue is not crying, you are being a hypocrite.

I'm not offended. I'm Glaswegian, you'll need to try much, much harder. I can certainly see how plenty could be offended though - can't you? I don't see how this makes me pretend I have certain virtues I don't have though but okay, if you must. Sigh.

  • How is it even possible to "grief" in a Pirate game? That's exactly why they're called pirates! If someone is chasing you around, either get better and kill them or switch servers. If someone is waiting at an outpost to gank you and take your loot, get better and kill them first or go to a different outpost.

I was playing the other day and saw a guy's ship sink. He came aboard and offered his help to our crew. He seemed like a nice guy. The next island we get off, he sneaks back aboard and steals our ship.

Did I whine about it? No! I said to my crew, "That's the best pirate I've ever seen!" and moved on!

My gosh the whiners playing this game is off the charts. So sick of it. This is a PIRATE PVP GAME. That's what pirates do, they're supposed to try to screw you over any way they can. Either figure out a way to be a better "pirate" or find another game that suits you.

  • @eph1zul Except that doing solely pvp nets you hardly any reputation most of the time.

I'm sure people throw words such as "ad hominem" and "strawman" about without really knowing what they mean.

    Hides dictionary xD

  • Sea of Tears is a way better title.

  • There's a generic response to people who complain about dying in pvp. Simple:

    Died in a PvP zone.

Do you mean like the OP did? Gave no respect from the get go.

Who did the OP disrespect? He didn't call anyone out by name he was talking about people in general who cry about PvP.
That's how it is now though everyone takes offense that was never given.
