Having a Battle Royale mode for SoT would be so amazing!
Imagine 100 ships being thrown into sea. Then having a storm as a "circle" which would get smaller and smaller.

@itchycalf846137 no, I don't think it would be sweet, I don't think it suits the vision Rare have repeatedly shared, and that has enticed many of us here.
I think Skull and Bones would be more suited to having a BR mode if anything.
I agree with the @OldManSutii, this game is not Fortnite/PUBG and we don't need the same f*cking gameplay of them in SoT. Let SoT trace is own path and be ORIGINAL
@winblast01 Yeah but its not gonna be "the same gameplay" as PUBG. Its gonna be very different if its set with ships and physics like SoT has.

@brotherlost yep, that's pretty accurate, and much to the annoyance of those of us who were not only involved in the game prior to its official release, but had also shown our appreciation by investing in it.
It makes me more salty than the seas just thinking about it.

don't know why so many people are against it. it would be just another mode for the game which would keep the game alive after like 4 to 6 months. it wouldn't interfere with the regular mode of the game. It would also bring in more players, more money to keep adding content to the game.
This guy gets it. Honestly it would be sweet. And it would attract more people. People who dont want to sail around for hours without pvp.
@realbadhor5e because that isn't what would likely happen. Most likely, it would result in a massive rift in the player base, and leave less resources available to the development of the game we've all supported so long.
Again, for those more inclined to non-stop combat and quick thrills, Skull and Bones is probably a better fit.

you can only do so many voyages before it gets boring. once everyone gets the items they want, pvp is the thing that will keep this game alive. But, if pvp isnt frequent, those players will leave to.
A battle royal mode will keep this alive much longer. Rare can use they money they get from battle royal to add fresh content to the regular game and customization. As long as the only way to get items is through playing the regular game and micro transactions, the regular mode will be kept alive :) everyone wins

@realbadhor5e not really, that means the original game still dies, but the spin off lives on.
I'd much rather see them dedicate resources to enhancing the game itself, so we have more to do.
not really, i offered a solution that keeps the original game alive :) which is, you can only get new customization items from playing the regular game.
What are you going to do after you did all the quests and got the items you wanted? Keep sailing around aimlessly until fresh content is released? No, most people will leave and game will slowly die.
Battle royal mode will allow people to keep themselves busy until new content is released :)

We'll have to agree to disagree I guess.
fornite wasn't working as it was. they pivoted to make a game enjoyed by more people. at the end of the day that's what matters.
think of it like halo. just because it has/had a big multiplayer scene didn't make the campaign go away :) multiplayer mode kept the game alive for people that enjoyed the campaigns.
seriously though, what are you going to do when you did all the quests and have collected the items you want?
