How are people one-shotting?

  • Just been in a fight with a crew and even when we both hit headshots each with a blunderbuss, none of ours would instantly kill, whereas their whole crew would instant kill with any gun, really confusing, and made the whole experience of being spawn-camped (with 67 chests on board :'c ) seem a bit unfair to us

Is there some kinda glitch people have found to cause this? Because honestly we would hit 3 or 4 times and still nothing, and they were a one hit kill no matter what to us

edit, feel like I need to add, I spawned behind a guy on the ship who was taking fire from my crew on the front, I shot him 3 times in the head with a blunderbuss and still nothing, he turned and shot me once and I died instantly from full

  • Try aiming for the head/upper body with your blunderbuss.
Also, distance is pretty important since the bullet spread is huge on the blunder... so getting even a few steps closer can make the difference between hit and oneshot.

But on the other hand, i don't fully understand the damage system either. Usually pistols kill with 2 shots, but i have seen others taking 3 shots whithout dying... sometimes it just feels weird to me awsell.

  • Snipers with uranium tipped ammo.

  • They problay head shot you that why you dying instantly

  • My two cents here, while using the blunderbuss the closer the better. And no need to aim for the head, your goal in my opinion is to aim center mass right at the torso so all of your pellets have a chance to hit and it'll one shot if they do. Also, with the sniper though you may aim on the head, it seems like it shoots a tad higher, which is why I was aiming for the neck.

  • I believe the only weapon that can one shot is the blunderbuss, and you have to be pretty close. (Unless you me then it doesnt matter and you will scratch them and get one shot paha!)

When it comes to headshot damage, i dont believe you do extra damage for headshots but im not 100% certain.

  • i think that the switch to a firearm need to be longer (if im dueling with a sword someone blocks me and instantly pulls a blunderbuss and one-hit me... put some delay in the big guns

  • I've only been one shot from a blunderbuss a couple time. But they where right beside me when they did it. I've also done that to people. But its extremely rare. Distance, position and placement play a big part in that.

  • Were you going for a record on how many chests you had on board at once? You should really turn chests in once you reach about 5-8.

On the topic of blunderbuss damage, it depends on how close you are and how many pellets hit. The closer you are, the more pellets are likely to hit. If all pellets hit, it will be a one shot, even if none of them hit your enemies head.

  • From my experience Body shots are more fatal than head shots.

  • @pokepaws The "Be More Pirate" video specifically points out headshots! My assumption is that is how it is supposed to be. Also, should this be in the pioneer forum? Personally I don't mind...tell us more.

  • @pokepaws probs an old post...but it still needs fixing! if combat is a bit like sex then im pretty sure we are all left unsatisfied after a 2 second jig. I personally would love more ammo and less power! Taking 5 shots and then running back to an ammo crate is lame! Kraken doesnt 1 shot...and i heard everyone that has seen it has never lived to tell the tale. Maybe it wasnt the kraken...maybe it was the blunderbuss.
