I love the git gud arguement however I see no ody being harmed by offering people the CHOICE to turn crossplay off or on
I'm completely neutral on the subject, as I don't really care either way whether there was an option or not, but I'll just mention this:
Such an option divides the community, on a technical standpoint it is the fact that matchmaking will have to be tweaked to the point where it'll have to search between players who have the option turned off or on, checking which system they're on, etc.
You're stating it's a simple option. It is not that simple of an option, as hundreds line of code will have to be added in, making the game more unoptimized.
It all adds up to longer loading times, higher bandwidth usage, bigger download sizes, more backend game updates, the fact that the server will constantly have to ping you and check if you have the option turned off or on whenever someone is about to join your session, not to mention the HUGE problem between people in the same party where one has the option turned off, whilst the other player has the option turned on, which completely makes the entire option useless in the end, etc.
And you can say that "you play this solo". That doesn't matter. Other people don't play solo, they play with other people, and such problems WILL pop up.
You need to think of the bigger picture. Nothing is ever that simple, and you need to think of everything from a technical standpoint when you're suggesting a feature for the game.
