I'm a stickler for details. And I can't help but notice a lot of little details that make me feel SoT was indeed rushed out the door.
For example (but I'm sure not exhaustive):
- The 'Royal Sovereign Jackets' with an 's'. Instead of the singular Jacket.
- Scurvy Isley - Isley isn't a word. Is this supposed to be Isle?
- The figureheads seem to basically change colour, rather than be anything different when upgraded. This isn't so much a lack of attention to detail, but strikes of laziness. I mean, the golden lion figurehead only changes the eye colour...
- There's no way to unequip an item in the clothing chest. Once equipped, you either need to equip something else in it's place or unequip everything. E.g. a belt - don't want it? Take off everything.
- Some NPC's require a Y button press to talk to, others require an X. Handing in items to quest givers is X, but speaking to them is Y. Speaking to the Tavern owner is Y, but speaking to shop keepers is X....?
- Moving along pages of shop items when talking to a shop keeper is done using the triggers... but when perusing your own inventory in the chests it uses the bumper...?
- No way to view cosmetic items on your pirate before buying, a pretty basic quality of life mechanic...
I could go on.
Again, these are minor but reflect a sense of rushedness and lack of time to polish.
Still adore the foundation of the game though and can't wait to see it build.
