I am using windows 10 xbox for the first time and I played the game without setting my gamertag. Now my save slot shows my old gamertag even after deleting my pirate and creating a new one. Any way to update the in-game gamertag?

@kaiser-wwi Literally the minute I post that I try to log in again and it has my updated name lol. Still can't get in game though.
I think it might be:- Takes some time to change
- The servers being under heavy load caused the issue
- It was time and deleting my original pirate.
- It was deleting my original pirate and server load.
Whichever is the reason for this, your issue should be solved soon too.
In-Game names are sourced from your Xbox Live Account., changes can take up to 6 hours to fully process and disseminate to all Regional Hubs.
Once this occurs it can then also take between 30min to 3hrs (depending on the Cache Settings) for the Game Servers.The Xbox Live FAQ does cover this, as do I believe there is a little note when you change your Gamertag that it can take up to 24hrs to take effect across all Live Services.
