    .....wat

    But did you sell it....

  • @burnbacon
no thats the thing, i sunk a ship, it had a doubloon crate and when i was aproaching the island to sell it it disapeared, i thought maybe they cancelled the voyage so i used one of my voyages to test it, (used a the shipwreck one cuz i didnt want to loose the 200 one) i got the crate cancelled it and the loot disapeared, so if someone steals the special voyages stuff and the enemy crew decides to ruin your play they can just cancel so no one wins, it sucks

  • They obviously have the crate tagged as belonging to the voyage, so when it gets cancelled it is mistakenly getting removed as part of garbage collection for all voyage assets.

If you submit a ticket, this might get fixed for the next Weekender but it's too late to fix for this one.

They could very well implement a fix for this, but I can see why they wouldn't. If they fixed this to where the crate would remain after cancelling the voyage, I'd set the voyage, collect the crate, and cancel it. Repeat to get all 3 crates, and make one voyage to sell to the next island. All done. It would be efficient, easy, quick, and over in one trip, which is something Rare doesn't want it to be.

  • Pretty poor.
    Hopefully they can fix this.

Good fix would be they could program it like your own emissary flag where somebody else gets full value if they sell (doubloons) and if you cancel voyage and attempt to sell chest you get 1 gold.

It would be risky though, as you may lose all your smuggler doubloon crates in one go.

Even if a sunken crew doesn't do the cancelling out of spite, they might do it because they want to (certainly if they spwan far away to even try to get the doubloon chest back) try it again (perhaps on another server even), for which they need to cancel the voyage.
You can hardly expect them to wait until the attacking crew to deliver it, can you :) ?

I think that outweighs the possible cheese some people might do, also they could have removed the doubloon reward if it's your own crate and you cancelled the voyage or have a certain distance between vessel and crate for it not to despawn upon cancelling.

Now, the just made getting a doubloon reward for stealing such a chest too hard except for those who just switch their doubloon crates with another friendly crew or in a alliance server.
