When you join an open crew and the inevitable "What does everyone want to do?" question comes up, I would like the option to respond "I don't mind", or maybe something more piratey like "I'll follow yer orders captain". Instead, those of us who are just happy to be taken along for the ride and really don't mind what we end up doing have to just stand there looking like we don't understand the question.
I recently had an experience where I joined an open crew. They asked "What does everyone want to do?". I didn't answer because I genuinely didn't mind what we did. They asked again. I put down a random voyage just to get something started. They said "no". I put down another one. They said "no". I put down a third. They left the game.
For me, open crew is not about getting help with specific goals. It's about rolling the dice and seeing where the session takes you. I expect it's the same for a lot of people. I think there should be something in pirate chat to reflect that.
