The 30 minute ban is only stopping people from playing that get kicked from the game.

There's no reason to remove the ban for leaving because of one single instance.
And imagine if they actually removed the ban, and then people went around leaving matches as trolling (Which is probably why the ban exists in the first place) or because their team was loosing (Which makes a death spiral).It'd be incredibly annoying to have a game start and then your entire crew leave, because then you have two options- leave with them and wait forever for another match in the lobby, or stay and man your ship solo.
Getting kicked from the game, at least in my experience, doesn't actually cause a ban- but if you willingly leave, you will get banned. It's not a significant problem.

Galleons... 4 man team each starts his own arena galleon...
1 teammate starts his or her server 1 players lobby starts and is starting the others leave the lobby they are in and join the one that is starting.players leave the actual game all the time. I never left the game that was playable...I was kicked from the lobby...the other the game did not render and you could not see the ship or anything.

Who cares if they leave the lobby? There's no penalty to that so I don't see how this is related to the conversation.
And before we go about making assumptions, yes I do play the game.As for leaving the running games, while it is true that people do already leave, if there is no penalty for doing so then people will leave inside of matches twice as often at least.
Think about the trolls, think about the rage quitters...
@johnhp1 the game can’t differentiate leaving from being kicked.
It was put in place for a reason, to stop people from hopping lobbies. Removing the ban would make things worse.
The best thing would be to shorten the ban as @personalc0ffee said.

That being said, I have to apologize for this one- I should have quoted your comment there, I can see how that was unclear.

I didn't mean that you left the lobby, I meant the other people trying to find active servers.
