Fun with Grog

  • I'd like to propose an expansion to the Grog system. First of all, how about we break drunkenness into a few stages that are stacking, with the effects set to a cool down that is reset every new Grog a pirate drinks (about as long as being drink lasts now):

    Stage 1: Hiccups
    Stage 2: Stagger
    Stage 3: Blurred Vision
    Stage 4: Vomit

    Along with that I'd like to see some varieties of Grog in the game:

    Sailor's Grog = This would be the basic Grog, but this would see a "nerf" done to it. This would move you 1 Tier per Tankard. This would be free to acquire from any Outpost Taverns only.

    "House Special" Grogs = These could be unique to each outpost and have silly effects added to them that are strictly cosmetic like bubbles when you hiccup, making your face red, etc (toss ideas below). These must be purchased for Gold at the Taverns they are associated to, costing say 1000 Gold per Barrel. These would also each have a unique name. They would also move you 2 Tiers per Tankard. They could sell a single Tankard Refill of the House Special for maybe 10 Gold.

    Chest of 1000 Grogs = This is the strongest stuff on the Sea of Thieves. This one simply moves you 4 Tiers per Tankard (unless there is a cool cosmetic only effect folks can think of).

    Finally, we limit the number of Grogs available in the Barrel on our Ships to say 100. This means a Chest of 1000 Grogs could refill the ship 10 times from one Chest, while all other methods would simply just fill the barrel up and then despawn the Barrel you're carrying. Refilling the Grog would require carrying a Barrel to the Ship and Refilling similar to an Ammo Crate.

    This would just be a fun way to do something more with the Grog, and give a new interactions to the Taverns on Outposts. Plus, hey, a cosmetic based gold sink for us finally.
