Have the Devs given any thought to have the Kraken not attack solo player sloops or turn down the damage it does as I've been Krakened twice today one was just as I left ancient spire harbour! and the 2nd time was as I left smugglers bay!. I have killed a kraken once but in the dozen or more encounters I've had I've always been killed and my sloop sunk and after todays incidents I'm beginning to think its delibrate!. In the 2nd attack I'd killed two arms on the port side, repaired and refloated my boat!and then I get sucked into a tentacle have over half my life bar wiped and see a tentacle wrap itself around my boat and crush it like a egg! then the kraken kills me in its tentacle and sinks my sloop at the same time?. As a new player (2wks) I can deal with the megs but apart from a rare chance theres no escape from the Kraken while soloing a sloop! Is it because while I'm learning to play the game and concentrate on sailing and fishing that a Kraken is thrown at me because its ruining my game experience that If I'm doing the fishing to up my hunters call level and get thrown to the kraken every time losing my sloop my supplies and most important my fish onboard!. I know how to deal with the megs you either out sail them or fight them and I've killed one the other day but since the update DR this has become more frequent when I'm minding my own business just sailing or fishing!.This is without having to avoid PL's that delibrately go after you even after you've told them in chat your new and have no treasure or reapers chest on board and they've seen you fishing before they fire on you?. Because if I cant do the simplest thing fishing ingame without having a NPC thrown at me just for jollies I'm going to stop playing adventure mod unless its with a fully crewed ships because soloing a sloop is definately atm not for beginners with dev strike NPC's and experienced players delibrately picking on newbies!. INB4 screams Get Gud I'm new to SoT but have been gaming on PC for over 20 years!
The Kraken and Solo Sloops
@pyratical-paul altough as a new sailor the kraken seems to be unbeatable by a solo slooper i can promise you it can be easily done.
I dont mean this as a get gud post or anything just some tips.
As a slooper you only need to defeat 2 tentacles, after two get defeated the kraken will leave.
You can also sail away from the black ink, just keep going towards the same direction and adjust angle if the kraken turns you.
Initially (release) the kraken didnt spawn on the sloop but it got balanced for it and afterwards it now spawns on sloops.
With a little more experience in the game you will soon learn that both the kraken and meg are no challange at all since they all been nerfed into oblivion
@pyratical-paul sorry, I didn't read all...you want the kraken to nerfed down or not spawning anymore for the sloop??!! What? The most easy encounter on the sloop! When solo slooping the kraken won't survive more than 3 minutes! Always! If done correctly it's done in 30 seconds...
Watch some youtube videos how to beat it solo or add me and I'll show you...@grievous32 sagte in The Kraken and Solo Sloops:
You need to hide when you hear and see it trying to suck you. When it's done, go outside and fire with cannons. You need only 8 cannonballs to kill 1 tentacle and you need to kill only 2 tentacles to defeat the Kraken.
Actually, the Kraken is WAYYYY too easy.
You are wrong...1 tentacle needs only 3 cannonballs
@schwammlgott No... 3 cannonballs will not beat 1 tentacle or this is really new... You need more than 15 cannonballs to defeat a Kraken and you need to defeat 2 tentacles. It's clearly not 3 cannonballs, it would be even more easy while I already kill the Kraken in less than 30 seconds with 8 cannonballs per tentacle.

Yes it is 3 cannonballs per tentacle...100 % sure, I've beaten so many of them I know this...
Edit: on the sloop it's 3 cannonballs, on bigger ships you need more
@schwammlgott So this must depend the number of players onboard then, I rarely play alone and I need more than 3 cannonballs everytime.
@grievous32 also try to attack tentacles that just came out of the water, not the ones that are there already for about 10-20 seconds, because they might go into the water after 2 shots or so...
The only time I need more than 10 cannonballs for the whole encounter is when it wraps around the ship
I suggest you lot that posted with its easy and get gud didnt READ what I said! I had killed 2 tentacles it still attcked me the sails were still down and the Kraken kept on attacking! and I was below decks when it sucked me out the back cabin But w/e I expected these replies. I had killed my 1st meg and Kraken on thursday straight one after the other! today was the Kraken saying your dying and your ships going down no matter what you do!. No matter I'll just stop trying to lvl my hunters call and start going after the reaper chests or go play in the arena?

it wrapped around the ship twice so what do you do then?
@pyratical-paul kill the tentacle-head which appears next to your ship...
But anyway...the kraken never survived that long to wrap around twice...@pyratical-paul sagte in The Kraken and Solo Sloops:

Don't give up, believe me, it's easier than you think...
Just add me and I can show you...got time now?Edit: sorry a friend just called...got time tomorrow?

@pyratical-paul hot a screen shot, we would all love to see a double wrap.
I guess he meant it wrapped around a second time...if not, it's a lie...
The Kraken if fine who it is and this game is easy as it is but a little advice if your fishing on island find a spot that you must jump to and swim to that’s way Skeletons can’t get you try to keep an eye on your surrounding and you can always run from the Kraken or Megs being new to this game means learning how to survive it’s not hey devs make this way for me I don’t wanna learn how to play
@pyratical-paul
It's a bug if it sucked you from below deck. It shouldn't do that, but no more kraken nerfs. If you give up after you sink once, you're going to have a bad time in this game. I still sink sometimes, and I've been playing since launch.You are completely incorrect about how many cannonballs you need. The Kraken tentacles haves always needed 8 cannonballs.
I've killed the Kraken every single encounter and I play solo a lot.
You might be getting mixed up because the tentacle keep the damage. So if you hit 1 tentacle 5 times and it goes under and reappears somewhere else, you only need 3 more shots on that same tentacle.
It's 8 cannon shots to kill a tentacle. On any ship
@EGGamer13 its 8
They have nerfed Karen enough, I don’t want her being nerfed again!!
She’s easy to handle solo, and she ranges in difficulty. Sometimes she can be beat in under 5 minutes, sometimes she takes up to 10 minutes to defeat because she’s being particularly ornery.
I’m not saying you are just whining/you’re not good. Far from it! But you need to try and learn the AI’s of this game, because it’s easy to learn the patterns and as a result it becomes progressively easier to defeat the different creatures in the game.
Edit: forgot to mention - you’re also extremely new, soo posting about something like this is far too premature, since you don’t even know what is actually difficult in the game, and what is difficult but is easy to handle when taken in stride. I believe it’s safe to say you don’t even know your own ship.
Sea of Thieves is far more than just sailing around getting treasure. You have to learn what your ship is and isn’t capable of, learn and detect patterns of Karen, Megan and Skevin. You need to learn how to sail a lot more, need to learn the islands and just learn the seas in general (trust me there will be a day when you’re stranded in a rowboat with 3 hours worth of loot, and you’ll have to rely on your knowledge if you wanna hand in your treasure via rowboat). Things become easier through experience! You’ll get more successful the more you play, of this I am certain!
@callmebackdraft the best tactic is to do a 180 and sail back out directly where you cane from. It is a shorter distance than sailing across whole kraken in same direction to get out. Doing it this way you can get out without taking damage or getting sucked up. There is a video on YouTube. If someone needs to run from the kraken this is the way to do it.
As a new player (2wks) I can deal with the megs but apart from a rare chance theres no escape from the Kraken while soloing a sloop!
- You should be grateful to encounter a sea monster that actually inspires fear in you... That's how the kraken is supposed to work, i'm jealous of you, back in my day, the kraken was a pushover, i mean it technically still is, but it's far less of one than back then.
- This game wasn't meant to be played solo, it gives you the OPTION to play solo, yes, but it wasn't meant to be played solo... bring a friend.
- Rare did make it so krakens couldn't attack sloops for a while, you just so happened to start playing after they announced open season on sloops again. xD
This is without having to avoid PL's that delibrately go after you even after you've told them in chat your new and have no treasure or reapers chest on board and they've seen you fishing before they fire on you?
Why would the pirate legends believe you? They have no reason to trust you, i've encountered several people ingame who yell "We're FRIENDLY!" and then when they're close enough, start peppering me with cannonballs... Even encountered people who did what you did, say "We have no treasure!" and when we sink them anyway, a months worth of piracy floats on the water. xD
I've simply made it a habit to do things on my own terms, that way i don't need to believe what people say, because i have my own plan... I've become a pirate! 8D
Because if I cant do the simplest thing fishing ingame without having a NPC thrown at me just for jollies I'm going to stop playing adventure mod unless its with a fully crewed ships because soloing a sloop is definately atm not for beginners
Solo slooping was never for beginners... It has always been, and will always be, hardmode. xD
A sloop is a 2 man ship, bring a friend, trust me, the game is way more fun, and way easier with a friend.
Right for those of you that say bring a friend....Thats ok if have alot of friends that play SoT alot of my friends dont! alright fair comments even the get gud ones but explain this one then in playing today I've been Krackened 3 times today How often do you get Krackened on a daily basis? let alone 3 times in 1 day? and the 3rd one only went off after I use the harpoon on the rowboat to hurt it!
@pyratical-paul
All u gotta do is check the sky. If you dont see a skull cloud or skelly ship cloud, then you have a chance of being krakened. Stay close to islands till u see a cloud.Also u should be thankful to get the kraken that much. All that loot u got for fighting an easy beast

Also you can only be attacked in deep water. From the crow's nest, you can see the difference (shallow water is lighter blue, deep is dark blue). stick to the shallows or just stay put until the next skullfort/skelly fleet cloud.
If you get a chance, try to equip a blunderbuss. If it sucks you up, aim down and shoot the tentacle that has a hold of you. It'll drop you so you can get right back to your ship. When it wraps your ship look for another tentacle to pop up close to your ship, cannonballing that one will usually cause it to let go of the ship, sometimes you have to do it 2x to get it to let go, you can sometimes get lucky and just shoot the tentacle that's holding you and get it to release. If you have a full billow, make a 90° turn or keep going thru, if you're sailing into the wind then try the 180.
I have been Krakened multiple times in one voyage. (You're welcome fort runners...) Sometimes as soon as I spawned in and left the outpost (without collecting supplies), sometimes with loot. Try the tips we've left. I've soloed more stuff than some have ever done in this game. 🧜🏽♀️

It's easy to find people to be a part of your crew. Use discord, LFG (on xbox), forums online, open crew, friends list, and there are probably more if you look hard enough.
As for the kraken attacking you 3 times...how long are you playing the game in one session? It can happen in longer sessions if your unlucky but even then krakens are fairly easy to defeat in a sloop. If you have decent knowledge of the games mechanics then they should be no problem for you. If you are having a tough time dealing with them then I suggest setting full sails and repairing your ship and bailing any water until you get out the krakens range. Or, as soon as you enter the kraken, anchor turn your ship and head in the direction directly behind you. Lots of ways to deal with the kraken.@agent-samuraii sagte in The Kraken and Solo Sloops:
