Update about the SoT Loot Crate, delayed to Aug??!

    Hi everyone,

    I felt necessary to do some research recently since i found odd that such a company with such a reputation faces such enormous delays.

    Loot Crate is a subscription service for gamers and pop culture fans.
    In June, the SoT twitter promoted a partnership between LC and Rare. It featured a special "Sea of Thieves Bookend Collectible" in the form of a Galleon being attacked by a Kraken on the july Gaming Loot Crate :

    FYI Loot Crate was at the top of it's activity around 2015 and had many faithful customers. Their deliveries were on point and contained really nice loot inside.

    But it looks like things turned really bad this year for them.

    There are numerous reddit posts that raised big concerns about the company longevity, some people state that they didn't recieved any Loot since May. Most people are cancelling their subscription right now.

    I just wanted to let people here know what's happenning with this.

    I used to subscribe to Loot Anime, close to a year I think. I enjoyed it for the purpose of getting exposed to a new series when the crates actually included a Manga or tiny trinket.

    Unfortunately that wasn't often enough to justify the cost and I dropped. Was easier and cheaper to buy the extra stuff from the vault at a discount rather than subscribe and get mostly junk.

    That said, I did buy the Loot Gaming crate specifically for the SoT Bookends and was sad to receive the email about the delay. Hopefully it arrives :(

    @dotcomrobots Thanks for pointing this out. This was mentioned on the Keelhauled podcast a few days ago too. This is certainly not good word of mouth for LC. Hopefully they can pull out of this.

    This thread is a month old, but I just checked into this again and have some update information.

    Last week it was estimated to ship out by August 30th, but it now states October 1st-15th :(

    I'm gonna do a charge back , it's getting ridiculous now with the non committal answers from their customer service team.

    The old dog needs putting out to rest.

    No idea, but I’d be surprised if you could ever get them from LC either. With the bankruptcy issues and layoffs, I’d imagine their suppliers are having trouble getting paid too.

    Wow, I hadn't seen these bookends before but I'd love to get one! It looks amazing. Maybe if we can find out who the actual Manufacturer is, we can contact them directly (who's making them for Loot Crate)? I'd definitely be interested in that.

    It's a shame about Loot Crate. I never did subscribe to them as I wasn't interested in most of their crates (only the odd item or two from them), but very sad to see them going downhill.

    I ordered one as well and it's been delayed to October.

    That company is being woefully mismanaged and are headed for bankruptcy I hear.

    At this point they cannot even pay their vendors to get the stock they need to ship out to their paying customers... They can't ship anything - but yet they're still taking our money!(???).

    What's even worse is the employee layoffs and hardships that are likely cropping up as a result.

    I tried a chargeback but had issues.

    So I'm still waiting.

    If anyone else is still waiting it's worth complaining.

    I just got £10 credited to my LC account, because I kept complaining about the wait to Erwin there, be prepared to argue for it though.

    My discussion got a bit spicy as he tended to dance around questions at points, you just have to call them out on it if they do this, as they are aware of how bad it looks on them if they continuously avoid direct answers.

    Be prepared for scripted responses as well, they are easy to spot though and quite often don't completely fit the context of the thread, point it out if this happens as incompetence, I did.

    Just received my delayed SoT Loot Crate, that was eventually promised for October ( now end of Nov).
    NOT ONE SoT item!!! I only ordered it because of SoT!!! Will be complaining....to someone,somewhere.......
    CANNOT BELIEVE IT....

    Weren't the book ends supposed to be guaranteed in the B A M F crate though?

    I'm still waiting on mine, and in all honesty I'm expecting them to screw it up ...again somehow.

    This company is so incompetent its unbelievable.
