@alucard3135: 11 months after you posted, here I am, and it's a glitch. I can't find the key anywhere and I've been here for an hour. Finally looked online and found this and I guess I will restart the quest. Damn, but glad to know it should be there when I go back. Cheers.

@luciansanchez82 UPDATE: I rerunned the tall tale and indeed the key was there this time. It really glitched before, which kinda sucks, I hope rare is aware of this

I wouldn't hold up hope for being rewarded the tale completion though, as you hadn't actually completed it.

Good news is that this is by far the quickest tale to run. After learning the chest/key locations I was on the island for less than ten minutes when re-running this one. It won't take you long to get back up to speed!

really sad... i was so close to finish this tale, now i have to give up because of this... is there a way rare can just award me the tall so i can move on to the next one? i can provide images of the glitch, its not like im inventing a story...

@snipahhh Damn, it may well be a glitch then. At least it's a quick tale to re-run! Would join you to help but I'm in work now I'm afraid.

@pithyrumble there is no flash in the water, nothing is sparkling at all

Ewww gross. I hate to say it but maybe you did glitch somehow. Again, it's closer to shore than it seems, swim past where you think it'll be and 180 and watch for the flash. A sword lunge should put you past where it should be.

@pithyrumble cannon one i did it, the skeleton one tosses it in the water i follow it but simply isnt there. i ve been roaming the coast and even more deep for around 45 minutes now

Try swimming out further (beyond the rocks off-shore). Two keys actually land in the sea, one close to the tower, the other further north that's fired from a cannon.

If it's the skellie that tosses it, use the lantern before you jumpnin to see where it goes to a point. It's closer to the shore than it appears. The cannon one is a big pain. I try to match my cannon to the ghost as best as possible, but 5/5 I've had to swim around a few minutes go find it. 🤷🏽‍♀️🧜‍♀️
