<![CDATA[Jib/Genoa Sail]]>

I want this purely for aesthetic reasons as it would make the ships look way better but jibs could be used to help turn faster as well when the wheel was cut and the other sails are up. and could give an slight added speed boost when in a cross wind. Every time I see a naked bowsprit it hurts my soul a little bit. Even if they didn't do anything at all I think it would add to the look and feel of a game who's main staple involves sailing.

@m1sterpunch Would love love love to see A normal Genua and Gib sail in game. Altho it would be hard to code as the game is made now. But I also thought the same thing with Extended ship damage so who knows right?

Having sailed for over 30 years myself I can safely say that Sailing with a Gib alone is more then just going about and seeing the sail flip over. You have to let go of the Jibsheet and attach it to the Winch on the other side of the ship and pull in the sail untill it stops flapping. Having a Mainsail with boon alone would be a good start, it's a lot easier to animate/ manage but also harder to teach people who don't sail (are you going to tighten the sails or loosen them up?

I hope Rare implements these in time but I feel it might be just a feverdream.

still, i think it would be cool if Rare could experiment with different kinds of sails. i personally would like to see the common Lateen and gaff-rigged sail.
