All I hear is Xbox players complain about getting double gunned 24/7, but not am I yet to see anyone use this, I am not even able to find anyone who can explain how macros would have to set up for that. But I know, they are everywhere. Just like those pesky hackers. Everywhere.

Macros do provide an advantage. Macros keep you from getting AFK kicked. They allow you to double gun to the point where you can almost instantly fire two guns. Before the sword misses caused you to be frozen for a second or two like it is now, PC user could Macro a constant bunny hop and swinging sword. I'd seen this in person and was so hard to combat because they were all over the place. All of this has caused Rare to re-balance things. Macros are Evil in my opinion and should be prevented to even the playing field. It's just like how people try to say mouse and keyboard don't give you that much of an advantage and I say back any advantage is still an advantage.

You have gotten exactly that of which you desire. Question then, since you have the solution to your complaint, would you call in a deckhand to close this thread?

Well the fix hasn't been implemented and who knows if for sure it will be cuz it's not like Rare hasn't gone back on things like say how they had those original Commendations which were then nerfed after 7 months of being in the place. So maybe once the opt out is there then yes this could be closed. But who knows maybe there's other PC players who are anti-macro that might want this thread to stay open. Why do you want this thread closed so badly?

I've tested the rubber banding and that doesn't work ANYMORE but what I think you are talking about beyond that is the elite controller. Can you provided proof you can AFK with that type of controller? Cuz I've never heard this.

Actually this wasn't meant to be a opt out thread. Just a way to stop Macros. Feel free to make suggestions in that regards. Thanks pal.

Two words... Rubber Band, the afk'ers are beyond a macro problem. Opt out isn't a the solution to this, considering they can just tape a controller.

Actually I must disagree with that. You are correct this was the case when Arena first launch (I'll admit I tested it to confirm you could rubber band your controller). However, the last update from 2 weeks ago I think it was or maybe as recent as last week upped the sensitivity of their AFK detection and I think they also lowered how long you can go before the kick. So I experimented and have not been able to avoid the AFK kick using my controller and rubber banding. I've noticed since they made this fix that there have been significantly les AFKers but they are still there and they seem to be on PC because not only will they say run constantly in a huge semi-circle but sometimes randomize and then start doing a run and then jump. So yeah it'd be nice if Rare could do something about the Afkers.

PAHHLEEEEEZ.... Macros aren't killing this game, lets do some simple math here on Macro users. PC players make 33-34% of the population, of that number lets assume a really generous number of them that waste time making a macro in a game that doesn't benefit from macro using, say 10%. So 10% of that 34% makes .034 so even with a generous number we get 3.4% of people using macros. That number is minuscule and you have a low chance of actually running into them just using an average.

Now this game really doesn't benefit from Macros, if this was a game like WoW that would be different. That game actually makes good use of Macros because sequenced abilities can range from five plus unique abilities. Sea of Thieves really doesn't make use of it. You could argue double gun macro, but even during its hayday of use, the strategy had huge counter play, yet no one refused to listen to actually deal with it. Its a waste of time to actually macro in this game, nothing benefits from making one here.

By all means Rare try using anti-cheat software, that nearly every other PC game uses quite effectively. However, if the only reason you think you are losing fights is due to the other player macro-ing, I regret to inform you, that you are overestimating your abilities in this game.

Good points, let me rephrase. Some of the biggest hot topic issues could be resolved by preventing MACROS like the double gunning exploit (that still exists btw) and the rampant AFKers in the Arena now. Just a couple quick examples but I'm sure there's more out there. Also another way to fix these issues would be to simple offer a OPT OUT OF CROSSPLAY. So that way all the Macro users could be in their own little server and the rest of us who want to avoid the cheaters could OPT OUT.

The software MS would have to implement would basicly make a pc os that handles the same as the xbox os, they will never do that.

Well of course they would have to accompany it with some quite invasive software, which hypothetically MS can easily do. That's pretty much a given premise.

Ok ok so forcing a keyboard purchase would be bad so then maybe we stick with some sort of anti-cheat software to detect and STOP the MACROS for good!!
