Name: The KegRunner

Ship Type: Skeleton Sloop

Concept: Unlike other skeletal ships who otherwise sound their war horns when they arise from the depths, these keg enthusiast would arise with a chorus of hissing wicks. Their ship would have an Ashen style overlay on the skeletal vessel and within the hold would be a plethora of kegs. These vessels would sail up upon a player's ship and when within range, their bell would begin to ring as they ram the hull, igniting their kegs as they go out with a bang. They would be able to be countered, of course. A marksman would be able to pick off a keg on their middeck next to their mast, igniting their explosive cargo before they can even get within range.

I think these could also be useful in skeleton fleets. Should you be low on cannon balls or kegs, you could overpower the skeletons aboard and use the sloop to powder keg the skeleton galleons, wiping out most of their crew and punching holes into their hull.

The ones that pop up in the random encounter not so much.(With the Mega keg I mean)

I definitely think they should be encountered out in the world though, an easier skeleton ship fight for a smaller payout, it would be an amazing way for newer or struggling players to get a handle on the game's naval combat without it being too hard, and they can make a little side cash while doing it.

Note: If you were not aware, the Skelly Sloop only spawns with the Ship Cloud fights. You will not see them roaming the seas or as a pop up encounter while sailing. :)

Simply described, well thought out, and not a controversial suggestion?
Easy upvote from me, love the idea.

An idea I've always had is:
Skeleton fleets should have a Skeleton Commodore instead of a Captain.
I think it would make sense with whole Fleet idea.

I did have another idea for a "Sunken" ship. It would be for a skeleton crew who would have reef-inspired models. The hull would be adorned with barnacles and a small reef of sorts. It's main form of attacking would be ramming the reef against your ship to cause damage. The drawback for them is that if the players destroy the barnacles and reef on its sides, it would begin to take on water and due to the barnacles feeding habits, they wouldn't be much of a hull for them to repair where each barnacle would be. Think of it like a weak spot. The skeletons aboard would be about as strong as the golden ones in terms of the damage they can take, but would be slowed due to the build up of small reef-life on their bodies.
