Game Closes right after launch. Support ticket deleted?

  • I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue before as all the help threads I read on similar issues were of no help to my particular issue.

    I have launched the game successfully in the past but for some reason now the application closes about 1.5 seconds after I click PLAY in the Microsoft store or even when i launch from a taskbar shortcut. I have tried making sure my PC is logged into my Microsoft account, changing security setting to not require any login password or anything, and restarting my PC several times.

    There is no error code or message of any kind the application just seems to close on its own.

    I submitted a support ticket about 1.5hrs ago but now when I check on my support requests it seems to have been deleted as there is nothing in the active or history columns and there was an open ticket in there that I even edited a bit after posting to provide more info on the problem.

I'm not super familiar with the support ticket process (only done it once myself), but I have heard that if you submit a ticket for a previously-known bug, they will just "delete" your ticket and copy-paste it into the larger ticket that they actually have there. Don't know if that rumor was true or not, but take heart that they might be working on it! If you don't get any feedback within a few days for a game-breaking bug like that, though, you could consider just making another ticket? Idk.

    Also, have you tried just uninstalling and reinstalling the game? You'd be surprised how often that kind of thing can work...

  • @vorondil1 thanks for the reply. I submitted another ticket and that one was responded to in like 20 mins and they gave me a whole laundry list of possible fixes which i have tried but they havent helped so far.

    the only reason i waited to uninstall/reinstall is because i live in a rural area where i get about 4Mb/s download. its painfully slow and the first time i downloaded this game it literally took me days so re-installing is a multi-day process for me but after trying all the other solutions i don't see an alternative atm so I'm re-downloading the game now. thankfully there was an update so instead of a 60GB download its now just 28.21GB so thats a solid 24hrs saved right there.

  • Start with the FIX 5. It is easy and I think it will solve your problem. Sounds crazy, but it works.

  • re-install the game, it was the only thing that worked for me.

  • I had similar issue. Does the game under Programs & Features show a small file size? Less than the 28gb it is supposed to be?

    You can see in my post below the email from support you are likely to get.

    In the end I had to reinstall window for everything to work :(
