I would love to see that, even if it's only available once you become a pirate legend.

Is something like capitancy update... When you goal the rank "legendary captain" it was one of the first major update after The release of the game...
But it was cancelled

I’m hoping they will bring back limited time cosmetics too

I really like this idea, also have the oppertunity to get timelimeted cosmetics to the hideout and achivment cosmetics like the legend equipment

Essentially, the secret base would be your own personal space that you can customize

@badrobott could just make it a place like the PL hideout, only you can customise it

I don’t think it’s overkill at all. I like the creative aspect of this game and hope they will take it farther. When you start out on a ship, you have nothing worth stealing so why does it matter where you start? I can understand that having merchants in the base would be a bad idea. My solution for that is to not be able to take treasure in the base zone. If you took treasure in there, it would become decoration and nothing more. Essentially meaning that you can never sell it ever.

I'll jump in here. While I agree it would be cool to be able to showcase achievements other than in your title, I think this should be something to customize on your ship rather than a land base. Maybe add a Ship Cabin option in the ship customization chest at the shipwright that allows you to display your Hungering Deep trophy or what have you. I also would love to sail through a waterfall, but I agree with @R3D50V13T that it should be a place open to everyone or perhaps a new feature for the PL Hideout. Your ship is your base in this game, I think a private island would be overkill.

@r3d50v13t whats the difference between the PL location and a secret base. a secret base provides "an act of feeling accomplished" like you earned alot of money by working hard in voyages and hunting monsterus beasts. "there's a whole new air to it" bruh you cant even say on with hard before it lol wut cmon

The PL location is a place that is supposed to separate the normy pirates from PL pirates, an act of feeling accomplished like you're a level higher, there's a whole new air to it

There is no gameplay to a secret base, there's no benefit to it

@r3d50v13t just a cool new place to call your own. its like having a land ship. it allows us to have fun with our friends. I would be perfectly ok with them having a mega outpost that has special minnigames on it or something. but I would like something personal even more. also it can be something you can sink cash into, buying better looking customisations for your base. what did the pirate legend hideout add to the game?? its the same thing, would it not be cool even if it offered no cosmetics or voyages, I would still love to go down there to drink a few grogs, imagine being able to customise and decorate the cave down there. a place where you can look at all your accomplishmesnt ya know?

Ok, lets dumb this down, in what way does a secret base benefit the gameplay?

otherwise im kinda thinking a giga ship would be cool, one that allows for more customisation options like throwing up a kraken tentacle or skull. putting meg jaws and stuff up. decorating the captains quarters and other poo like that

@r3d50v13t we have green and white nametags to identify other crews and dif body shapes. also you can customise your secret bases to make them different from other peoples secrett bases so you can identify that it is not theirs lol why does it matter that it isnt mobile. would it be ok if the secret base was on the back of a giant moving turtle. each person has a secret base, maybe you unlock it after leveling up or you buy it. once you have it it works the same way it does in gta, there should be a captain system in the game. but anyways the person on the helm or last person on the helm is the person whos secret base you are going to. if its something everyone has access to, it would be the same as a ship. everytime you log on you go and you customise it. I would prefer that it was a menu thing, maybe the person who makes the party or the ship is the captain and thats whos base you are gonna spawn at. if it works with the crew, then you are just showing off your crews achievements. titles are pretty poo, you can only show one at a time and you have to walk up to the guy and read what it says. sure theres pirate legend clothing but thats about it. I dont want it to be a safe place, I want it to be open to attacks. i like the idea of your hub where you can play card games and watever

I don't understand why this is being questioned, we bling out our ships and pirates to make them unique to us to differentiate from other ships sailing by or anchored near each other and to tell apart from your crew and other pirate crew, this seems obvious to me
It seems wasted to have time, resources devoted to making a secret base that is customizable, and just how would that work? At max there are 4 crew members, unless they increase that number down the line at some point, which I do hope for, what I'm getting at is that you'll be sharing the base with other members so how would customization work between the crew? Like how you agree on the ship customization? Then what would be the point in having a trophy room or whatever point the other guy was referencing to, as there would be 4 different rooms to show off each individuals achievements, which i could care less for, we have PL and titles, along with limited time event items.
Rare already said that they don't want a safe place, hence why you can camp and attack at an outpost

I would much prefer a hub where everyone on the server could meet up, but it still wouldn't be a safe zone, you could play card games to earn doubloons or gold by playing with other players?

There is essentially no point to customizing your character or ship. There is no point really. My idea may be pointless but I like the idea to customize my own area.

Your character moves while wearing clothes, also your ship moves with a paint job, sails, flag, cannons, etc
You will bot be spending most of your time at a safe place, there will be no safe place
That's what you want
You want a way to show off your accomplishments?
How does a book in your inventory and you can turn to the page of whatever you want to show off and show it to them like how you can with a map, riddle, etc
No safe place, people would use it poorly and would just hide there all game

@r3d50v13t also you never said why it matters that the island would be stationary?. the clothes on your body stay on your body, what does it matter. i dont get your point about them being non stationary. obviously the captain can invite people to the "secret base" so other people will be able to view it

@r3d50v13t how dont you see a point, people have been making points, just read. il tell you some now, you could show off your trophies there and have fun with crew mates there. you would always spawn there instead of a random outpost. it would be your own place that you can customise, a place to call home. the seas call to us but everyone has one true home

Honestly, I love the different color flames of the fates. I was hoping that I could store them in my secret base and use them every time I start a new session. They look cool and I wouldn’t have to die by lightning over and over again

I honestly don’t know if Real even listens to us. You get half the people complaining about the changes and others saying the changes are good. I feel this place is more for us to express our opinions than to suggest future content
