I think it makes it less special imo, but I wouldn't cry if they did this.

I don't look like I could play a lick of it. Occasionally, I enjoy solo starting the tune in the pub, then waltzing to the docks playing a few bars. Sometimes you can learn about your crew just playing that song outside the whole bar scene.

@calicojack1120 I wholeheartedly agree! Though I think it should be bound to the RMB when having an instrument out so you don't pull the song out by accident while trying to go through other songs.

Absolutely agree with you! When we became Pirate Legends we should have had the ability to play the shanty anywhere at anytime. Rare needs to give us this shanty.

Ah , yes indeed ,i'm a faulthy person and some gamertags leave me in doubt if i'm talking to a he or a she...The Mr,Mrs,Miss ,Sir and whatever more comes a bit from being a Pirate ...Many Pirates came from Navies and in the Navy there was still respect and politeness amongst the ranks...It has become such an automatism that i don't even notice i write Sir,Ma'am and so on...In the game i will call everybody Mr ,Mrs ,Miss and so on...It simply adds to my immersion to the game...When i play SOT ,i'm no longer Clumsy George ,but i become Pirate Swabbie George , who has respect for all those he comes across...It may sound odd to you , but i really don't care what people may think...i love playing this game and meeting people from all corners of the world...People that think that i'm fake may think that , the world and thoughts of people are ,luckely, still free, but i do what i like to do in this game and Forum...
So, Mr ClosingHare ...Now you know why...

Well mate , i know how you feel...i have become a huge fan of the Music in Sea of Thieves and find Mr Beanland and his team an absolute Blast...People have been asking for more songs to play , and on one of the conferences around the world ,Mr Preston Andy said that it has something to do with the amount of data that can be streamed at the same time...i know you are going to say that this isn't the issue since you can play the song but just not everywhere...
Well ,maybe they wanted to make this song some kind of reward for becoming a Legend...
i will tell you something, in the start of the Alpha's there were no levels nor Legends and when the game released i had a bit ...hum...dissapointed feels that Rare imported a formula known from almost every other game...

i didn't care about becoming Legend ,i just played the same way as i did during the Alpha's . My main goal was to laugh and make other laugh as well, untill....i met my first Legend Pirate who was so kind to play that song and guide me into the Pirate Hideout....After that i knew that i would never stopped playing untill i was able to play this song...

This song is one of my favorite and when the female singer , Anna i think, sings and the Rare choir falls in....Oh ooooow....Goosebumps every single time...i love this song and i play it very often without going into the pirate hideout because ...it can't be played there...

@calicojack1120 Not a stupid change at all. I was saddened to find I couldn't play it anywhere and felt like a pretty obvious reward to those of us who become legend. Non-legends could even join in on the song when a legend starts to play it. Kind of a way of show casing what they could earn if they grind it out.

Hopefully it'll become a thing!
