For a while my crew and I have wanted an update to the core gameplay. While this isn't exactly what we wanted, it's a step in the right direction. It brings a new challenge to riddle, x mark's and bounty quests and the boosted gold rates from ashened loot is weight perfectly. The in-game lore from what I've seen isn't as interesting to me as the Cursed Sail's but both are much better than Hungering Deep in my opinion. Searching for the Skelly Crew was more entertaining than the island searching in previous updates but this is largely due to exploring the new area. Cosmetic drops look great but personally I'd like to see more "normal" looking cosmetics and gear whereas the Kraken and Oceancrawler outfits are more along the lines of the Bilge Rat's clothes. My suggestion for rowboats would be holding more chests/skulls/crates but the mechanics feel spot on. I would have really liked to see a new type of Skelly in this update though, I hope in the future we get some sort of Ashened s
Skelly to fight in the area. Forsaken Shores feels like a refreshing new challenge in a sea unified by alliances.
