I have been noticing this issue for a while now. Shots say they hit but they in fact did not connect properly. I've seen it happen to myself and others. It seems like a glaring issue but is not listed as a known issue. Is assume this isn't an "easy fix" but I just wanted some acknowledgement that this issue sometimes leads to some massive repercussions. Thanks.
Server-side Hit Registration.
@smokesomebeers Have you reported it yet? https://support.seaofthieves.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new?flash_digest=3e27f0830e7e20313c1604dfd6483895ea0a5f98
Unfortunately this is an issue in every single game ever. The sad truth is is that there is almost no way to completely fix the difference between what you and your Xbox/PC registers as a hit, and what the server sees. Things can be done to improve it, but never completely fix it. I don't think they need to acknowledge it because most of the online gaming community recognizes this as something that just happens. No need for Rare to fall on a sword that isn't theirs.
@peskyookamiinu to some extent you are right, but realistically speaking SoT hit registration can be 10 times better.
The only fps in my life I ever had a doubt my bullets were actually dealing damage after getting the hit marker is Sea of Thieves. Overwatch, cross fire, counter-strike, team fortress, tribes ascend and many more games I played with hitscan weapons or projectile weapons dont have the issue as bad as SoT does. The thing is that SoT is a huge map, of course there is some corners cut in the netcode, but we always should expect better.
