we need to get the Wellerman added as a song

Instrument focused, could you add a fiddle and with the fiddle you could add small solo's in some songs and maybe a post horn but a post horn would not get played so much with shanty's but more for attacking other ships and causing a sound all through the land, and with new songs you could get community to send in compositions and you guys could pick one of the songs. I think it would be awesome but I know that you have bigger things to focus on at the moment! ;-)

they should also add singing you no each character you can choose at the beginning, they should each have a distinct singing voice thats just my opinion.

@onasaki The banjo is already in the game, it is in the pirate legend hideout.

@becausescience1 Early versions of the banjo would fit and be welcome. I’d much rather see violins (fiddles) first, since they were more prevalent among seafarers and common to almost all music of the time.

Trumpets? While they certainly existed, I don’t think of them as folk instruments pirates would play. I think it would be a bit jarring to hear in a pirate ensemble. The flute or fife, on the other hand, would fit right in.

More music is always better, but there are lots of period shanties to draw from with no copyright concerns. “A Pirate’s Life for Me” I’m pretty sure is owned by Disney. Good luck with that one! :)

Early versions of banjos came from Africa and definitely existed during the Golden Age of Piracy. They were brought to the Caribbean by African slaves. The modern version of the banjo wasn’t invented until the 1800s, so that would be out of place in Sea of Thieves. But an older, more primitive version would fit the game nicely.

another idea for new instruments would possibly be some kind of a flute or something to get some nice opportunitys for shantys that might even have some nice melodic high pitch notes.
