The investing and effort=reward gamers are complaining about the Company investing and follow the rules of meritocracy .

Playing games is not about investing.
If you invest time to play a game or reach achievements, work hard for comendations you should maybe ask yourself what is wrong about your attitude playing and having fun doing so.

What reason peoples playing for?

Fun playing and playing for playing itself. That's how playing is defined.

Playing = to please oneself for fun, pastime and about doing something that's joy in the matter itself.

But what do most gamers?

Work hard and follow the effort=reward formula and overestimate about meritocracy.
They are bringing work into games that should be played and not worked or their Systems "gamed" .

I feel sad for all those gamers who forget how and why to play games.
I feel sad for the achievers, striving workers and all the rage they produce, all the complaining and disappointment.

I don't like PvP and I'm completely uninterested in commendations.

But I know other people DO like those things, so I try to make sure not to dismiss them. People enjoy games for different reasons and I try to respect that.

But that's a two way street. While others are trying to understand why the commendations are important to some; THEY need to try and understand why they might feel like a pain to others. That's how you reach a compromise.

To define a hardcore player as someone who chases acheivements is wrong imo. I know a guy who shapes his job schedule to get a couple of hours play time a day. Hardcore even if he is not spending hours chasing titles.

We all play for different reasons. Ones own faliure to appreciate that or to be able to empythise with others is not Rares failing.

Why should anyone HAVE TO complete 11 more? I currently have 500 out of 120 skull fort clears!!! Why should i have to clear 1 more? Cuz Rare can't reprofram commendations?? Cuz since they lowered them i've purposely NOT cleared another fort. It use to be my fav activity in this game, not anymore!!!

Or stop your boat and test your knowledge of location names. I mentioned a random location to make a point and on cue they pounced like a hoard of rabid Star Trek fans angry over a misquoted line. I had no idea people could make up elite status in this light game with zero progression. Reading through some of this stuff is like watching hardcore Candy Crush players complaining about 'the casuals.'

Okay that’s my daily 30 seconds of a 5 year old mentality over with. Turns out it’s quite contagious.

I was working on the Raiders of the Cursed Stronghold achievement. I had about 150 forts cleared. Now it says I am 59/60.....

Imagine beating a final boss, and having rewards changed from beating the same boss 1000 times to being rewarded at beating him like 250 - 500 be because 1000 is stupid and literally isn't any harder for people to complete than a more reasonable number.

I think Rare changed the commendations because there was an insanely amount of time needed to unlock only one of them. I'm also sure that the % of players with these commendations unlocked is so low that they tought it needed a change. And I can agree on that.

They are just a couple of words beneath your nickname, who cares about that?
Do you really think that when people reads it (if they even cares about doing it, wich I can tell you nearly NOBODY does) they think: "WOW! This guy is a GREAT player, wow! I'm so impressed!! He has THAT title, wow! I want to be like him"??
Nah, in a 90% of the unlikely times when people stops and cares about what you have beneath "D4rk_N4ruT0_87"(yes, this percentage was researched by the University Of My Balls In Oil) they will think: "WOW!! This guy stays at home A LOT of time! How can he spent so many time on grinding that little title?? lol! Who cares? I'm going to kill him anyways!"

So stop crying for stupid things.
