I have not done all that many skull forts - something between 10 and 20, maybe. I am pretty sure I have done each of three possible forts at least once.
I was told that the best place to park your ship was nestled between the largest towers where the skellies could not fire at your ship, but could still fire at other approaching vessels.
However, yesterday, it seemed there was always a low cannon on the main island, covering that "safe" position between the towers. Is that new, or have I simply not noticed it before?
