Skeleton Slayer Titles Or Some Other Reason To Kill Skeletons

  • I would love if there was something to work towards for killing skeletons. At the moment, they are just mostly annoying and there's barely a reason to kill them unless you're doing OOS, a fort, or still grinding the Gunpowder Skeletons.

Maybe a title could be added for killing so many? It could be a very high number to work towards long term but at least give some incentive and make them less of a nuisance.

Perhaps something like tiered titles, unlocking at 500, 1K, 2K, 5K, 10K skeletons. And perhaps a special cosmetic will unlock at 20K to show off.

It's just something that I've been thinking about. So often when I'm doing GH or MA quests I just think "ugh" when skeletons appear, because I just can't be bothered with them and they add nothing to the experience.

  • I like the idea of big lifetime achievements tracking more stuff like that (Sailor of the Whispering Bones-style) having rewards. Titles are fine, but I want more scars, tattoos and war paint.
    skull face for killing skellies

  • There kind of is this feature under OoS commendations already, but it doesn't apply to ambient skeletons or for other quests.

Exactly, but it's "ambient" skeletons that are the ones I think are just a nuisance and the ones I'm referring to. It would just be nice if they didn't feel that way, and something to work towards for killing them would help a lot in that regard, I think

Yeah, they could maybe have a tattoo set that upgrades with every Skeleton Slayer milestone you meet? That's an interesting idea

  • @realstyli I LOVE the idea of progressive/ upgraded tattoo sets! They would add more and more tattoos to the same "pattern" as you go, sleeves and even, like, mistakes of blot-outs or enhancements of existing art.

Finally... at the peak of it all... glowy ink like what happened when we summoned the meg. Like an enchanted tattoo. Maybe it only glows at night or near torches and lanterns or whatever, but YES!

Edit: no! of course! it glows near skeletons!

Excellent idea, I like the way you think!

  • @baldmunkee

    I'd call you Sting.

  • what about ship vinyls for sinking ships
or a commendation for pvp kills
example you sink 10 ship unlock a roman numeral 10 viynl (10 different ships) and you can put on your ship
kill a 100 different pvp get like a tombstone vinyl
    maybe with cannons
you start of with black connon
you get 100 hits with that cannon it gets a bronze stripe on it 500 silver
    1000 gold
you kill 50 ppl with a cannon white stripe 75 blue 100 red
    these are all just example
just think it would be neat for some way to let ppl know how bad A you are
kinda like world war 2 fighters with the tallys or stickers on the planes

  • @hersheymanley I love the idea, aesthetically. However, I'm kind of purist when it comes to PVP rewards: I prefer that PVP offer no rewards that are not incumbent in the activity itself. Watching a ship sink, hearing the angry cries of your victim, taking the floating prize, these are all natural results. If you start adding (or continue adding, as they already have a few) achievements and titles and cool looks based on PVP, you start getting people that wouldn't normally attack doing it out of a morose sense of completion-ism or for the decals. They are miserable. And I feel bad when I kill them because they weren't having fun.
