The game only allows use of text chat for Win10 PC players. On Xbox, we only have the wheel of options and voice chat. Even if you plug in a keyboard or chad pad to the controller, there's no text chat functionality. Please allow us to use text chat on Xbox, because that way the communication field is even between PC and Xbox. It would also help more those who don't want to use voice chat for whatever reason; at least they'd have the text chat option for non-verbal communication.

@masterkillerx Xbox One and Win10 are basically the same enviroment so it literally wouldnt be that much of a hassle to enable it though :/.
Most awesomemegalistic option would be that we could have multi-gadget chat, like using xbox app on pc or phone to write so you wouldnt have to jump out and back in some txt screens ingame while being vulnerable to attacks and surprises and maybe miss some other chat messages that others write.I second this request.
It's not always possible to use the voice chat for whatever reason. I met a crew of pirates who help me and my friends to fight Meg and I could not communicate with them properly because my friend could only use group chat (from the Xbox app... he doesn't have a headset), and the only other person in my crew who could communicate with the other crew via text chat had some game issues (frequent crashes) and logged off.
The text chat could've helped us a great deal...@eidelyn I've had something similar happen to me when doing a skele fort. I was in a group with people in a party, but one person wouldn't join the party. We were fighting an enemy crew who just wouldn't leave us alone. It took several deaths for them to finally be teleported somewhere far away. Having someone use text chat if they can't talk or can't hear anyone would help so much in tense situations when you need communication.
