What an awful experience with this game. Freezing CONSTANTLY. Almondbeard, Lazybeards for all players. This is sooo bad. Didn't Rare say that the reason there is no content is because they were working on the game being stable? YEAH RIIIIIGHT.
Unplayable mess.
I don't get it. The two days ago doing the hungering deep I had not one issue. I do believe these issues are during bug battles with other player and most definitely at skulllforts. I love doing skullforts to battle with others and having all these issues really takes away from my fun. I'm still dissapointed. I hope the game can get mostly stabilized.
To the people having no issues, try doing a skullfort or two with a full crew and fighting others. You WILL have an issue.
I didnt have issues either after the last update, except from once when screen got frozen for 5 secs when attacking a galleon at a fort. And I have played a lot of hours. I am from PC with 50mb/s download and 5mb/s upload. Generally games plays fine now. But Rare please add washed up times! We miss them.. :/

No chill out and wait. That's an awful suggestion. I'm sure Rare isn't chilling out and waiting with my money. I wish I can downvote

Game's been very stable for me since launch. A couple of AllmondBeards during that patch, but otherwise I've had no issues, same for many others.
Not saying players aren't having connection issues of course, but have you raised a support ticket? What troubleshooting have you performed at your end?
I've sent a number of support tickets. I cleared my cache, uninstalled, reinstalled. Nothing. But the thing is, this happens in the heat if battle for all involved in the game. This isnt some isloated incident. Skullforts in particular are awful when things are blowing up and getting heated. All at the worst times.
Running the game on PC
CPU intel 6850k
GPU MSI 1080ti
Max graphics at 2560 x 1080 I get 70 fps average on or around islands, while out sailing in the middle of the water 144fps with v-sync on with my monitor or 160-180ish without it on. The game has crashed on me once since launch, besides the annoying game bug here and there most of which fix themselves if you die and respawn. I've honestly had a pretty stable experience so far, everyone's PC is different and comes with thier own stability or instability. Thou I do wish my fps didn't get cut in half around or on islands that so far is my only real complaint performance wise.Yep, all of our crew hung on our approach to a skull fort about an hour or so ago.
We had just pulled up nicely beside the shoreline when it happened. Thankfully there wasn't another ship around.
I was left with a frozen screen mid-way whilst bailing water over the side of the hull from damages caused by the tower cannons. One of my crew mates was totally black screen and the other two said that their game had also hung.It was probably less than 10 seconds but in a heated situation (under attack) it always seems longer.
@lizalaroo Geez I wish I could say the same. Almost every time I use the stairs, regardless of galleon or sloop, I rubber band back to the top step again (when attempting to go down) and to the lower deck when attempting to ascend the stairs.
I can easily go down the stairs four times in a row without physically (or intentionally) climbing back up them.It happens on all stair cases of both ships (not every time, just a lot) but I find the stairs leading to middle deck of the galleon to be the worst.
All of that gets even worse if other crew members have boarded our vessel.
I must admit though, my PC just scrapes through the minimum requirements. On Xbox I've only actually had 1 disconnect so far since launch, which happened after I had my boat glitch through a dock somehow.
On PC I've only had issues with my graphicscard at the start, which was a bit driver related, a bit game related and 80% c****y graphicscard related. After tweaking the settings a bit I managed to stop getting disconnects and that has been like that for over a month now. Still need to try the new AMD driver to see if I can revert my tweaks again.
The only issues I've had apart from the disconnects I descibed is some minor stuttering when coming close to an island or fort, nothing gamebreaking though. Even during the "Almondbeard Patch" I didn't get disconnected a single time.
@Vanquish-VII
I would suggest to report your issues through the proper support channels and in future post refer from speaking for "all players" because you're not the spokesperson for everyone.@vanquish-vii
Are you on Xbox? If you are, try a hard restart. It worked for me....well, for about 6 hours at least. I’ve been getting long beards and freezing/crashing non stop (Not good when you’re solo slooping) but I got a 6 hour session in with no freezes until it finally did at about 6 hours 30 min.@admiral-rrrsole me matey.... as it’s happening just on the stairs have you popped a ticket in to support?

This really needs an in-game report system.

My game froze three times last night - all while doing a skull fort. Luckily the other crew members were kind enough to wait for me to log back in before turning in the loot, but logging back in was a chore. I counted five lazybeards just trying to get back in.
Quickest way back in is to quit the game first. If that doesn’t work, do a hard reset. Sadly.
@vanquish-vii I mean, you can be angry all you want. I’d be honored to receive your downvote for the reality of the matter. I understand your frustrations. But these things are more complex than you seem to realize. Bug fixes aren’t an overnight thing. Many of the largest games released experience issues, especially with title updates. Like I said, it’s inevitable. Updates break things. Then they bug fix. The next update will break something too. Sometimes it’s not foreseeable. If you don’t think Rare is trying to fix it as fast as they can, I don’t know what to tell you lol. It’s not a “right here, right now” sort of deal. That’s not how game development works. It’s really not a huge deal. Just be patient, chill out and wait for the fixes man.
@howlingfj0rd Hey. I'm with you. I work in software development and it's understood. My experience was negative last night because along with the disconnect issues I spent around eight hours trying to find a group to take on the Megalodon to no avail. The poor experience was compounded by the bugs is all. I wouldn't play this game if I didn't love it - bugs n all.
@floydpinkish Indeed! I'm actually in the same field! It's just how it works. Those of us who love the game, will keep playing regardless!
